I now invoke this magical Indra, the lord, mighty and accompanied by the Maruts, not to forsake me.

Indra, growing strong with the Maruts as his companions, drove away Vritra and released the celestial waters.
Indra, strengthened and accompanied by the Maruts, is credited with overcoming Vritra. This victory led to the release of the celestial waters, which were presumably held back by Vritra, bringing life and abundance.
