Stanza 8.67.1

त्यान्नु क्ष॒त्रियाँ॒ अव॑ आदि॒त्यान्या॑चिषामहे | सु॒मृ॒ळी॒काँ अ॒भिष्ट॑ये ||

tyā́n nú kṣatríyām̐ áva ādityā́n yāciṣāmahe sumr̥ḷīkā́m̐ abhíṣṭaye

We now call upon these protectors, the Ādityas, for their gracious help and support.

Stanza 8.67.2

मि॒त्रो नो॒ अत्यं॑ह॒तिं वरु॑णः पर्षदर्य॒मा | आ॒दि॒त्यासो॒ यथा॑ वि॒दुः ||

mitró no áty aṁhatíṁ váruṇaḥ parṣad aryamā́ ādityā́so yáthā vidúḥ

May Mitra, Varuṇa, and Aryaman, the Ādityas, help us overcome adversity, as they know how to do.

Stanza 8.67.3

तेषां॒ हि चि॒त्रमु॒क्थ्यं१॒॑ वरू॑थ॒मस्ति॑ दा॒शुषे॑ | आ॒दि॒त्याना॑मरं॒कृते॑ ||

téṣāṁ hí citrám ukthyàṁ várūtham ásti dāśúṣe ādityā́nām araṁkŕ̥te

Indeed, for the devoted offerer, the Ādityas possess wonderful and praiseworthy protection.

Stanza 8.67.4

महि॑ वो मह॒तामवो॒ वरु॑ण॒ मित्रार्य॑मन् | अवां॒स्या वृ॑णीमहे ||

máhi vo mahatā́m ávo váruṇa mítrā́ryaman ávāṁsy ā́ vr̥ṇīmahe

O Varuṇa, Mitra, and Aryaman, we seek your mighty protection; we choose your great help.

Stanza 8.67.5

जी॒वान्नो॑ अ॒भि धे॑त॒नादि॑त्यासः पु॒रा हथा॑त् | कद्ध॑ स्थ हवनश्रुतः ||

jīvā́n no abhí dhetanā́dityāsaḥ purā́ háthāt kád dha stha havanaśrutaḥ

O Ādityas, protect us, keep us alive, before destructive weapons strike; are you not those who hear our calls?

Stanza 8.67.6

यद्वः॑ श्रा॒न्ताय॑ सुन्व॒ते वरू॑थ॒मस्ति॒ यच्छ॒र्दिः | तेना॑ नो॒ अधि॑ वोचत ||

yád vaḥ śrāntā́ya sunvaté várūtham ásti yác chardíḥ ténā no ádhi vocata

Whatever protection and shelter you Ādityas have for the one who diligently offers, with that support us.

Stanza 8.67.7

अस्ति॑ देवा अं॒होरु॒र्वस्ति॒ रत्न॒मना॑गसः | आदि॑त्या॒ अद्भु॑तैनसः ||

ásti devā aṁhór urv ásti rátnam ánāgasaḥ ā́dityā ádbhutainasaḥ

O Gods, Ādityas, for the sinless, there is freedom from distress and attainment of wealth; you are wonderful beings.

Stanza 8.67.8

मा नः॒ सेतुः॑ सिषेद॒यं म॒हे वृ॑णक्तु न॒स्परि॑ | इन्द्र॒ इद्धि श्रु॒तो व॒शी ||

mā́ naḥ sétuḥ siṣed ayám mahé vr̥ṇaktu nas pári índra íd dhí śrutó vaśī́

May this fetter not bind us; may it release us. For Indra is powerful and indeed renowned and in control.

Stanza 8.67.9

मा नो॑ मृ॒चा रि॑पू॒णां वृ॑जि॒नाना॑मविष्यवः | देवा॑ अ॒भि प्र मृ॑क्षत ||

mā́ no mr̥cā́ ripūṇā́ṁ vr̥jinā́nām aviṣyavaḥ dévā abhí prá mr̥kṣata

O Gods, who are eager to help, do not destroy us with the same means you use against enemies who stray from the path; cleanse us.

Stanza 8.67.10

उ॒त त्वाम॑दिते मह्य॒हं दे॒व्युप॑ ब्रुवे | सु॒मृ॒ळी॒काम॒भिष्ट॑ये ||

utá tvā́m adite mahy aháṁ devy úpa bruve sumr̥ḷīkā́m abhíṣṭaye

And you, great Aditi, Goddess, I address you, for your gracious help.

Stanza 8.67.11

पर्षि॑ दी॒ने ग॑भी॒र आँ उग्र॑पुत्रे॒ जिघां॑सतः | माकि॑स्तो॒कस्य॑ नो रिषत् ||

párṣi dīné gabhīrá ā́m̐ úgraputre jíghāṁsataḥ mā́kis tokásya no riṣat

Save us, O Mother of Strong Sons, in distress and in ease, from those who desire to destroy us, lest any of our offspring perish.

Stanza 8.67.12

अ॒ने॒हो न॑ उरुव्रज॒ उरू॑चि॒ वि प्रस॑र्तवे | कृ॒धि तो॒काय॑ जी॒वसे॑ ||

anehó na uruvraja úrūci ví prásartave kr̥dhí tokā́ya jīváse

O you of wide dominion and expansive nature, grant us unharmed expansion and allow our children to live.

Stanza 8.67.13

ये मू॒र्धानः॑ क्षिती॒नामद॑ब्धासः॒ स्वय॑शसः | व्र॒ता रक्ष॑न्ते अ॒द्रुहः॑ ||

yé mūrdhā́naḥ kṣitīnā́m ádabdhāsaḥ sváyaśasaḥ vratā́ rákṣante adrúhaḥ

They are the leaders of the people, unassailable, self-glorious, and they uphold their vows without malice.

Stanza 8.67.14

ते न॑ आ॒स्नो वृका॑णा॒मादि॑त्यासो मु॒मोच॑त | स्ते॒नं ब॒द्धमि॑वादिते ||

té na āsnó vŕ̥kāṇām ā́dityāso mumócata stenám baddhám ivādite

O Ādityas, like a bound thief, release us from the mouth of wolves and from bondage.

Stanza 8.67.15

अपो॒ षु ण॑ इ॒यं शरु॒रादि॑त्या॒ अप॑ दुर्म॒तिः | अ॒स्मदे॒त्वज॑घ्नुषी ||

ápo ṣú ṇa iyáṁ śárur ā́dityā ápa durmatíḥ asmád etv ájaghnuṣī

O Ādityas, let this arrow and this ill-will move away from us, let this relentless force depart before it strikes.

Stanza 8.67.16

शश्व॒द्धि वः॑ सुदानव॒ आदि॑त्या ऊ॒तिभि॑र्व॒यम् | पु॒रा नू॒नं बु॑भु॒ज्महे॑ ||

śáśvad dhí vaḥ sudānava ā́dityā ūtíbhir vayám purā́ nūnám bubhujmáhe

O bountiful Ādityas, we have always enjoyed your help, both now and in the past.

Stanza 8.67.17

शश्व॑न्तं॒ हि प्र॑चेतसः प्रति॒यन्तं॑ चि॒देन॑सः | देवाः॑ कृणु॒थ जी॒वसे॑ ||

śáśvantaṁ hí pracetasaḥ pratiyántaṁ cid énasaḥ dévāḥ kr̥ṇuthá jīváse

O wise Gods, you make him live, even him who turns to you, perhaps having sinned.

Stanza 8.67.18

तत्सु नो॒ नव्यं॒ सन्य॑स॒ आदि॑त्या॒ यन्मुमो॑चति | ब॒न्धाद्ब॒द्धमि॑वादिते ||

tát sú no návyaṁ sányasa ā́dityā yán múmocati bandhā́d baddhám ivādite

O Ādityas, may this new grace benefit us, which frees the bound as if from bonds, O Aditi.

Stanza 8.67.19

नास्माक॑मस्ति॒ तत्तर॒ आदि॑त्यासो अति॒ष्कदे॑ | यू॒यम॒स्मभ्यं॑ मृळत ||

nā́smā́kam asti tát tára ā́dityāso atiṣkáde yūyám asmábhyam mr̥ḷata

O Ādityas, your power is not to be slighted by us; be gracious to us.

Stanza 8.67.20

मा नो॑ हे॒तिर्वि॒वस्व॑त॒ आदि॑त्याः कृ॒त्रिमा॒ शरुः॑ | पु॒रा नु ज॒रसो॑ वधीत् ||

mā́ no hetír vivásvata ā́dityāḥ kr̥trímā śáruḥ purā́ nú jaráso vadhīt

O Ādityas, let not the weapon of Vivasvan, nor a skillfully made arrow, destroy us before old age.

Stanza 8.67.21

वि षु द्वेषो॒ व्यं॑ह॒तिमादि॑त्यासो॒ वि संहि॑तम् | विष्व॒ग्वि वृ॑हता॒ रपः॑ ||

ví ṣú dvéṣo vy àṁhatím ā́dityāso ví sáṁhitam víṣvag ví vr̥hatā rápaḥ

O Ādityas, completely remove hatred, distress, and combined evil from us.
