Stanza 7.89.1
मो षु व॑रुण मृ॒न्मयं॑ गृ॒हं रा॑जन्न॒हं ग॑मम् | मृ॒ळा सु॑क्षत्र मृ॒ळय॑ ||
mó ṣú varuṇa mr̥nmáyaṁ gr̥háṁ rājann aháṁ gamam mr̥ḷā́ sukṣatra mr̥ḷáya
O Varuṇa, King, may I not enter this house of clay. O excellent ruler, be merciful, be merciful to me.
The poet addresses the god Varuṇa, the king of cosmic order, pleading not to enter a "house of clay," likely symbolizing a fragile, mortal existence or a place of impurity. The plea is for Varuṇa's mercy and protection from such a fate.

When I move as if trembling, like a wind-inflated skin, O dweller in the clouds, be merciful, be merciful to me.

Acknowledging his own shortcomings, the poet confesses to having erred and strayed due to a lack of strength or understanding, and again seeks mercy from Varuṇa, the "bright" and "powerful" deity.

yát kíṁ cedáṁ varuṇa daívye jáne 'bhidrohám manuṣyāā̀ś cárāmasi ácittī yát táva dhármā yuyopimá mā́ nas tásmād énaso deva rīriṣaḥ
Whatever offense we men commit against the divine beings, O Varuṇa, when through ignorance we violate your laws, O God, do not destroy us for that sin.
The poet humbly confesses that humans, due to lack of wisdom and understanding, may commit offenses against the divine order or Varuṇa's laws. They implore Varuṇa not to punish them for these transgressions, seeking forgiveness for their ignorance.
