प्र वो॑ दे॒वं चि॑त्सहसा॒नम॒ग्निमश्वं॒ न वा॒जिनं॑ हिषे॒ नमो॑भिः | भवा॑ नो दू॒तो अ॑ध्व॒रस्य॑ वि॒द्वान्त्मना॑ दे॒वेषु॑ विविदे मि॒तद्रुः॑ ||
prá vo deváṁ cit sahasānám agním áśvaṁ ná vājínaṁ hiṣe námobhiḥ bhávā no dūtó adhvarásya vidvā́n tmánā devéṣu vivide mitádruḥ
We send forth you, O divine and victorious Agni, like a powerful horse, with our praises. Be our messenger for the sacrifice, you who know and move among the gods with measured purpose.

ā́ yāhy agne pathyāā̀ ánu svā́ mandró devā́nāṁ sakhyáṁ juṣāṇáḥ ā́ sā́nu śúṣmair nadáyan pr̥thivyā́ jámbhebhir víśvam uśádhag vánāni
Approach, Agni, along your own paths, joyous, delighting in the friendship of the gods. Roar from the high places of the earth with your might, consuming the forests with your eager flames.

These skillful men have spread everywhere with their divine powers. They created the hymn. Listening, they have advanced the people's welfare and directed them towards this order of truth.

We Vasishthas now invoke you, Agni, lord of wealth, O son of strength. You have brought nourishment to the singers and the generous ones. May you gods always protect us with blessings.
