Stanza 7.66.1

प्र मि॒त्रयो॒र्वरु॑णयोः॒ स्तोमो॑ न एतु शू॒ष्यः॑ | नम॑स्वान्तुविजा॒तयोः॑ ||

prá mitráyor váruṇayo stómo na etu śūṣyàḥ námasvān tuvijātáyoḥ

May our strong and worshipful hymn of praise go forth to Mitra and Varuṇa, with reverence to those born in union.

Stanza 7.66.2

या धा॒रय॑न्त दे॒वाः सु॒दक्षा॒ दक्ष॑पितरा | अ॒सु॒र्या॑य॒ प्रम॑हसा ||

yā́ dhāráyanta devā́ḥ sudákṣā dákṣapitarā asuryāā̀ya prámahasā

The gods uphold them, those two, the exceedingly wise, the 'fathers' of wisdom, as supreme rulers.

Stanza 7.66.3

ता नः॑ स्ति॒पा त॑नू॒पा वरु॑ण जरितॄ॒णाम् | मित्र॑ सा॒धय॑तं॒ धियः॑ ||

tā́ na stipā́ tanūpā́ váruṇa jaritr̥r̥ṇā́m mítra sādháyataṁ dhíyaḥ

O Mitra and Varuṇa, you two, as guardians of our homes and us, fulfill the thoughts of us singers.

Stanza 7.66.4

यद॒द्य सूर॒ उदि॒तेऽना॑गा मि॒त्रो अ॑र्य॒मा | सु॒वाति॑ सवि॒ता भगः॑ ||

yád adyá sū́ra údité 'nāgā mitró aryamā́ suvā́ti savitā́ bhágaḥ

As the sun rises today, may sinless Mitra, Aryaman, Savitar, and Bhaga grant us well-being.

Stanza 7.66.5

सु॒प्रा॒वीर॑स्तु॒ स क्षयः॒ प्र नु याम॑न्त्सुदानवः | ये नो॒ अंहो॑ऽति॒पिप्र॑ति ||

suprāvī́r astu sá kṣáyaḥ prá nú yā́man sudānavaḥ yé no áṁho 'tipíprati

May this home be well-guarded for us. O bounteous ones, lead us forward on the path, protecting us from distress.

Stanza 7.66.6

उ॒त स्व॒राजो॒ अदि॑ति॒रद॑ब्धस्य व्र॒तस्य॒ ये | म॒हो राजा॑न ईशते ||

utá svarā́jo áditir ádabdhasya vratásya yé mahó rā́jāna īśate

And those who are self-ruling, Aditi, and those whose vow is unbreakable, the great kings who rule.

Stanza 7.66.7

प्रति॑ वां॒ सूर॒ उदि॑ते मि॒त्रं गृ॑णीषे॒ वरु॑णम् | अ॒र्य॒मणं॑ रि॒शाद॑सम् ||

práti vāṁ sū́ra údite mitráṁ gr̥ṇīṣe váruṇam aryamáṇaṁ riśā́dasam

As soon as the sun rises, I sing praises to you, O Mitra, O Varuṇa, and Aryaman the destroyer of foes.

Stanza 7.66.8

रा॒या हि॑रण्य॒या म॒तिरि॒यम॑वृ॒काय॒ शव॑से | इ॒यं विप्रा॑ मे॒धसा॑तये ||

rāyā́ hiraṇyayā́ matír iyám avr̥kā́ya śávase iyáṁ víprā medhásātaye

With golden wealth, may this hymn bring strength and power, and for the wise, success in the sacrifice.

Stanza 7.66.9

ते स्या॑म देव वरुण॒ ते मि॑त्र सू॒रिभिः॑ स॒ह | इषं॒ स्व॑श्च धीमहि ||

té syāma deva varuṇa té mitra sūríbhiḥ sahá íṣaṁ svàś ca dhīmahi

May we be yours, O divine Varuṇa, and yours, O Mitra, along with the leaders. May we obtain nourishment and heavenly light.

Stanza 7.66.10

ब॒हवः॒ सूर॑चक्षसोऽग्निजि॒ह्वा ऋ॑ता॒वृधः॑ | त्रीणि॒ ये ये॒मुर्वि॒दथा॑नि धी॒तिभि॒र्विश्वा॑नि॒ परि॑भूतिभिः ||

bahávaḥ sū́racakṣaso 'gnijihvā́ r̥tāvŕ̥dhaḥ trī́ṇi yé yemúr vidáthāni dhītíbhir víśvāni páribhūtibhiḥ

Many who are sun-eyed, with Agni as their tongue, and strengtheners of order, direct the three assemblies with their thoughts and supreme power.

Stanza 7.66.11

वि ये द॒धुः श॒रदं॒ मास॒मादह॑र्य॒ज्ञम॒क्तुं चादृच॑म् | अ॒ना॒प्यं वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॑र्य॒मा क्ष॒त्रं राजा॑न आशत ||

ví yé dadhúḥ śarádam mā́sam ā́d áhar yajñám aktúṁ cā́d ŕ̥cam anāpyáṁ váruṇo mitró aryamā́ kṣatráṁ rā́jāna āśata

They established the year, month, day, sacrifice, and verse. Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, the kings, obtained supreme, unsurpassable dominion.

Stanza 7.66.12

तद्वो॑ अ॒द्य म॑नामहे सू॒क्तैः सूर॒ उदि॑ते | यदोह॑ते॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॑र्य॒मा यू॒यमृ॒तस्य॑ रथ्यः ||

tád vo adyá manāmahe sūktaíḥ sū́ra údite yád óhate váruṇo mitró aryamā́ yūyám r̥tásya rathyaḥ

Today, as the sun rises, we contemplate you with hymns, O Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, you who are the charioteers of the cosmic order.

Stanza 7.66.13

ऋ॒तावा॑न ऋ॒तजा॑ता ऋता॒वृधो॑ घो॒रासो॑ अनृत॒द्विषः॑ | तेषां॑ वः सु॒म्ने सु॑च्छ॒र्दिष्ट॑मे नरः॒ स्याम॒ ये च॑ सू॒रयः॑ ||

r̥tā́vāna r̥tájātā r̥tāvŕ̥dho ghorā́so anr̥tadvíṣaḥ téṣāṁ vaḥ sumné suchardíṣṭame naraḥ syā́ma yé ca sūráyaḥ

Those who uphold and strengthen the cosmic order, born from it, are formidable and hate falsehood. May we men, along with the righteous, dwell in your favor.

Stanza 7.66.14

उदु॒ त्यद्द॑र्श॒तं वपु॑र्दि॒व ए॑ति प्रतिह्व॒रे | यदी॑मा॒शुर्वह॑ति दे॒व एत॑शो॒ विश्व॑स्मै॒ चक्ष॑से॒ अर॑म् ||

úd u tyád darśatáṁ vápur divá eti pratihvaré yád īm āśúr váhati devá étaśo víśvasmai cákṣase áram

That divine and visible splendor rises high in the sky. Swift Etaśa carries it, fully prepared for all eyes.

Stanza 7.66.15

शी॒र्ष्णःशी॑र्ष्णो॒ जग॑तस्त॒स्थुष॒स्पतिं॑ स॒मया॒ विश्व॒मा रजः॑ | स॒प्त स्वसा॑रः सुवि॒ताय॒ सूर्यं॒ वह॑न्ति ह॒रितो॒ रथे॑ ||

śīrṣṇáḥ-śīrṣṇo jágatas tasthúṣas pátiṁ samáyā víśvam ā́ rájaḥ saptá svásāraḥ suvitā́ya sū́ryaṁ váhanti haríto ráthe

Lord of the moving and the stationary, throughout the whole world, the seven bay horses carry the sun in its chariot for prosperity.

Stanza 7.66.16

तच्चक्षु॑र्दे॒वहि॑तं शु॒क्रमु॒च्चर॑त् | पश्ये॑म श॒रदः॑ श॒तं जीवे॑म श॒रदः॑ श॒तम् ||

tác cákṣur deváhitaṁ śukrám uccárat páśyema śarádaḥ śatáṁ jī́vema śarádaḥ śatám

May we see that divine, bright eye ascend for a hundred years, and may we live for a hundred years.

Stanza 7.66.17

काव्ये॑भिरदा॒भ्या या॑तं वरुण द्यु॒मत् | मि॒त्रश्च॒ सोम॑पीतये ||

kā́vyebhir adābhyā́ yātaṁ varuṇa dyumát mitráś ca sómapītaye

O infallible ones, come with your shining presence, O Varuṇa and Mitra, to the Soma drinking.

Stanza 7.66.18

दि॒वो धाम॑भिर्वरुण मि॒त्रश्चा या॑तम॒द्रुहा॑ | पिब॑तं॒ सोम॑मातु॒जी ||

divó dhā́mabhir varuṇa mitráś cā́ yātam adrúhā píbataṁ sómam ātujī́

O Varuṇa and Mitra, come with the powers of the sky, without deceit. Drink the Soma.

Stanza 7.66.19

आ या॑तं मित्रावरुणा जुषा॒णावाहु॑तिं नरा | पा॒तं सोम॑मृतावृधा ||

ā́ yātam mitrāvaruṇā juṣāṇā́v ā́hutiṁ narā pātáṁ sómam r̥tāvr̥dhā

O Mitra and Varuṇa, heroes, come and accept our offering. Drink the Soma, you who strengthen the cosmic order.
