Stanza 7.65.1

प्रति॑ वां॒ सूर॒ उदि॑ते सू॒क्तैर्मि॒त्रं हु॑वे॒ वरु॑णं पू॒तद॑क्षम् | ययो॑रसु॒र्य१॒॑मक्षि॑तं॒ ज्येष्ठं॒ विश्व॑स्य॒ याम॑न्ना॒चिता॑ जिग॒त्नु ||

práti vāṁ sū́ra údite sūktaír mitráṁ huve váruṇam pūtádakṣam yáyor asuryàm ákṣitaṁ jyéṣṭhaṁ víśvasya yā́mann ācítā jigatnú

With hymns, when the sun has risen, I call to you both, Mitra and Varuna, whose discernment is pure. Yours is the supreme, unwavering divine power, the greatest in all the world, that comes to the attentive seeker.

Stanza 7.65.2

ता हि दे॒वाना॒मसु॑रा॒ ताव॒र्या ता नः॑ क्षि॒तीः क॑रतमू॒र्जय॑न्तीः | अ॒श्याम॑ मित्रावरुणा व॒यं वां॒ द्यावा॑ च॒ यत्र॑ पी॒पय॒न्नहा॑ च ||

tā́ hí devā́nām ásurā tā́v aryā́ tā́ naḥ kṣitī́ḥ karatam ūrjáyantīḥ aśyā́ma mitrāvaruṇā vayáṁ vāṁ dyā́vā ca yátra pīpáyann áhā ca

For you two are the divine powers of the gods, and also the guardians. Make our lands fertile, you two. May we, Mitra and Varuna, perceive you, where heaven, earth, and days have nourished us.

Stanza 7.65.3

ता भूरि॑पाशा॒वनृ॑तस्य॒ सेतू॑ दुर॒त्येतू॑ रि॒पवे॒ मर्त्या॑य | ऋ॒तस्य॑ मित्रावरुणा प॒था वा॑म॒पो न ना॒वा दु॑रि॒ता त॑रेम ||

tā́ bhū́ripāśāv ánr̥tasya sétū duratyétū ripáve mártyāya r̥tásya mitrāvaruṇā pathā́ vām apó ná nāvā́ duritā́ tarema

You two are the bridges of cosmic order, holding many snares for disorder. It is hard for a mortal sinner to escape them. O Mitra and Varuna, by your path of order, may we cross over troubles like a boat across waters.

Stanza 7.65.4

आ नो॑ मित्रावरुणा ह॒व्यजु॑ष्टिं घृ॒तैर्गव्यू॑तिमुक्षत॒मिळा॑भिः | प्रति॑ वा॒मत्र॒ वर॒मा जना॑य पृणी॒तमु॒द्नो दि॒व्यस्य॒ चारोः॑ ||

ā́ no mitrāvaruṇā havyájuṣṭiṁ ghr̥taír gávyūtim ukṣatam íḷābhiḥ práti vām átra váram ā́ jánāya pr̥ṇītám udnó divyásya cā́roḥ

Come to us, O Mitra and Varuna, with your enjoyment of offerings; anoint our pasture with ghee and oblations. Bestow upon the people here abundant, excellent, divine nourishment.

Stanza 7.65.5

ए॒ष स्तोमो॑ वरुण मित्र॒ तुभ्यं॒ सोमः॑ शु॒क्रो न वा॒यवे॑ऽयामि | अ॒वि॒ष्टं धियो॑ जिगृ॒तं पुरं॑धीर्यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः ||

eṣá stómo varuṇa mitra túbhyaṁ sómaḥ śukró ná vāyáve 'yāmi aviṣṭáṁ dhíyo jigr̥tám púraṁdhīr yūyám pāta svastíbhiḥ sádā naḥ

This praise, O Varuna and Mitra, is for you, like bright Soma for Vayu. Protect our thoughts, grasp our mental insights. You all, protect us always with blessings.
