Stanza 7.40.1
ओ श्रु॒ष्टिर्वि॑द॒थ्या॒३॒॑ समे॑तु॒ प्रति॒ स्तोमं॑ दधीमहि तु॒राणा॑म् | यद॒द्य दे॒वः स॑वि॒ता सु॒वाति॒ स्यामा॑स्य र॒त्निनो॑ विभा॒गे ||
ó śruṣṭír vidathyāā̀ sám etu práti stómaṁ dadhīmahi turā́ṇām yád adyá deváḥ savitā́ suvā́ti syā́māsya ratníno vibhāgé
Let the knowledge of the assembly come together; let us offer praise to the swift ones. Whatever God Savitr impels today, may we be there among the wealthy ones who distribute.
This verse is an invocation, calling for the gathering of the assembly ('vidathyā') and the onset of praise ('stoma'). It expresses a desire to be present where the blessings bestowed by the divine Savitr (the Sun-god) are distributed, implying a wish for prosperity and good fortune that Savitr, the impeller of all, brings forth.

mitrás tán no váruṇo ródasī ca dyúbhaktam índro aryamā́ dadātu dídeṣṭu devy áditī rékṇo vāyúś ca yán niyuvaíte bhágaś ca
May Mitra, Varuṇa, and the two worlds grant us this, divinely distributed. May Indra and Aryaman bestow it. May the divine Aditi give us riches; may Vayu and Bhaga give it.
This verse is a prayer to various deities for a share of divine blessings. It requests Mitra, Varuṇa, the twin worlds (Dyāvā-pṛthivī), Indra, Aryaman, the goddess Aditi, Vāyu, and Bhaga to grant and bestow what is divinely distributed ('dyubhaktam') and to give wealth ('rekṇo').

May that man be strong and vigorous, O Maruts, whom you, with spotted horses, favour. Him also Agni and Sarasvatī further; his riches no one can take away.
This verse addresses the Maruts, the storm deities, wishing strength and power to a favored mortal. It states that when the Maruts, with their spotted horses, support a human, then Agni and Sarasvatī also favor that person, and no one can take away their wealth.

This Varuṇa is the leader of order; Mitra and Aryaman, the Kings. They have accomplished the work. O divine Aditi, easy to invoke and without foe, may you deliver us from all distress.
This verse identifies Varuṇa, Mitra, and Aryaman as the divine leaders and kings who have completed their tasks or established order ('r̥tasya'). It also invokes the mother goddess Aditi, described as 'suhavā' (easy to invoke) and 'anarvā' (without enemies or foeless), to protect the supplicant from troubles and afflictions.

With offerings, I praise the swift, bounteous god Vishṇu. For this reason, Rudra obtained his Rudra-like greatness. O Aśvins, may you seek the dwelling full of food.
This verse describes the propitiation of the 'swift-moving' and 'bounteous' god Vishṇu with offerings. It then states that Rudra gained his power ('rudriyam mahitvam') through this. The verse concludes by addressing the Aśvins, asking them to seek out the house ('vartiḥ') that is full of sustenance ('irāvat').

O Pūṣan, do not be angry here; for Varūtrī and the givers of gifts have given. May the well-being-making ones, like swift horses, protect us. May Vāta grant rain.
This verse is a plea to Pūṣan, the nourisher, not to be angry. It mentions that Varūtrī (a protective deity) and the 'rātiṣācaḥ' (givers of gifts) have provided something. This verse is a concluding invocation, stating that the two worlds (heaven and earth) have been praised by the Vasishṭhas, along with the righteous deities Varuṇa, Mitra, and Agni.
