Stanza 7.34.1

प्र शु॒क्रैतु॑ दे॒वी म॑नी॒षा अ॒स्मत्सुत॑ष्टो॒ रथो॒ न वा॒जी ||

prá śukraítu devī́ manīṣā́ asmát sútaṣṭo rátho ná vājī́

May the divine and radiant thought advance for us, like a well-crafted, swift chariot.

Stanza 7.34.2

वि॒दुः पृ॑थि॒व्या दि॒वो ज॒नित्रं॑ शृ॒ण्वन्त्यापो॒ अध॒ क्षर॑न्तीः ||

vidúḥ pr̥thivyā́ divó janítraṁ śr̥ṇvánty ā́po ádha kṣárantīḥ

They know the origin of the earth and the sky; the waters hear them as they flow.

Stanza 7.34.3

आप॑श्चिदस्मै॒ पिन्व॑न्त पृ॒थ्वीर्वृ॒त्रेषु॒ शूरा॒ मंस॑न्त उ॒ग्राः ||

ā́paś cid asmai pínvanta pr̥thvī́r vr̥tréṣu śū́rā máṁsanta ugrā́ḥ

Indeed, the wide waters swell for him; the strong heroes think of him amidst the enemies.

Stanza 7.34.4

आ धू॒र्ष्व॑स्मै॒ दधा॒ताश्वा॒निन्द्रो॒ न व॒ज्री हिर॑ण्यबाहुः ||

ā́ dhūrṣv àsmai dádhātā́śvān índro ná vajrī́ híraṇyabāhuḥ

Attach the horses to the pole for him; like Indra the thunder-wielder, the golden-armed one.

Stanza 7.34.5

अ॒भि प्र स्था॒ताहे॑व य॒ज्ञं याते॑व॒ पत्म॒न्त्मना॑ हिनोत ||

abhí prá sthātā́heva yajñáṁ yā́teva pátman tmánā hinota

Advance towards the sacrifice like the days; speed gladly, like a traveler on the path, with your mind.

Stanza 7.34.6

त्मना॑ स॒मत्सु॑ हि॒नोत॑ य॒ज्ञं दधा॑त के॒तुं जना॑य वी॒रम् ||

tmánā samátsu hinóta yajñáṁ dádhāta ketúṁ jánāya vīrám

Urge on with your spirit in battles; establish a sign for the people, a hero.

Stanza 7.34.7

उद॑स्य॒ शुष्मा॑द्भा॒नुर्नार्त॒ बिभ॑र्ति भा॒रं पृ॑थि॒वी न भूम॑ ||

úd asya śúṣmād bhānúr nā́rta bíbharti bhārám pr̥thivī́ ná bhū́ma

Up from his strength, a light arises, not harming; it bears the burden like the earth.

Stanza 7.34.8

ह्वया॑मि दे॒वाँ अया॑तुरग्ने॒ साध॑न्नृ॒तेन॒ धियं॑ दधामि ||

hváyāmi devā́m̐ áyātur agne sā́dhann r̥téna dhíyaṁ dadhāmi

Agni, I invoke the gods, not demons; by truth, I form the hymn.

Stanza 7.34.9

अ॒भि वो॑ दे॒वीं धियं॑ दधिध्वं॒ प्र वो॑ देव॒त्रा वाचं॑ कृणुध्वम् ||

abhí vo devī́ṁ dhíyaṁ dadhidhvam prá vo devatrā́ vā́caṁ kr̥ṇudhvam

Embrace this divine thought within yourselves; direct your voice towards the gods.

Stanza 7.34.10

आ च॑ष्ट आसां॒ पाथो॑ न॒दीनां॒ वरु॑ण उ॒ग्रः स॒हस्र॑चक्षाः ||

ā́ caṣṭa āsām pā́tho nadī́nāṁ váruṇa ugráḥ sahásracakṣāḥ

Varuṇa, the mighty one with a thousand eyes, beholds the paths of these rivers.

Stanza 7.34.11

राजा॑ रा॒ष्ट्रानां॒ पेशो॑ न॒दीना॒मनु॑त्तमस्मै क्ष॒त्रं वि॒श्वायु॑ ||

rā́jā rāṣṭrā́nām péśo nadī́nām ánuttam asmai kṣatráṁ viśvā́yu

The king of kingdoms, the glory of the rivers, his dominion is unsurpassed over all life.

Stanza 7.34.12

अवि॑ष्टो अ॒स्मान्विश्वा॑सु वि॒क्ष्वद्युं॑ कृणोत॒ शंसं॑ निनि॒त्सोः ||

áviṣṭo asmā́n víśvāsu vikṣv ádyuṁ kr̥ṇota śáṁsaṁ ninitsóḥ

Assist us among all peoples; make the brilliance of the envious weak.

Stanza 7.34.13

व्ये॑तु दि॒द्युद्द्वि॒षामशे॑वा यु॒योत॒ विष्व॒ग्रप॑स्त॒नूना॑म् ||

vy ètu didyúd dviṣā́m áśevā yuyóta víṣvag rápas tanū́nām

May the destructive force of the enemies pass by; may you drive away their evil and sin from us.

Stanza 7.34.14

अवी॑न्नो अ॒ग्निर्ह॒व्यान्नमो॑भिः॒ प्रेष्ठो॑ अस्मा अधायि॒ स्तोमः॑ ||

ávīn no agnír havyā́n námobhiḥ préṣṭho asmā adhāyi stómaḥ

Agni, who aids with offerings, protected us with salutations; our dearest hymn was offered to him.

Stanza 7.34.15

स॒जूर्दे॒वेभि॑र॒पां नपा॑तं॒ सखा॑यं कृध्वं शि॒वो नो॑ अस्तु ||

sajū́r devébhir apā́ṁ nápātaṁ sákhāyaṁ kr̥dhvaṁ śivó no astu

Make the son of the waters, in harmony with the gods, our friend; may he be good to us.

Stanza 7.34.16

अ॒ब्जामु॒क्थैरहिं॑ गृणीषे बु॒ध्ने न॒दीनां॒ रजः॑सु॒ षीद॑न् ||

abjā́m ukthaír áhiṁ gr̥ṇīṣe budhné nadī́nāṁ rájassu ṣī́dan

With hymns, I praise the water-born dragon; he sits in the depths, in the regions of the streams.

Stanza 7.34.17

मा नोऽहि॑र्बु॒ध्न्यो॑ रि॒षे धा॒न्मा य॒ज्ञो अ॑स्य स्रिधदृता॒योः ||

mā́ nó 'hir budhnyò riṣé dhān mā́ yajñó asya sridhad r̥tāyóḥ

May the deep dragon never harm us; may the sacrifice of the faithful one never fail.

Stanza 7.34.18

उ॒त न॑ ए॒षु नृषु॒ श्रवो॑ धुः॒ प्र रा॒ये य॑न्तु॒ शर्ध॑न्तो अ॒र्यः ||

utá na eṣú nŕ̥ṣu śrávo dhuḥ prá rāyé yantu śárdhanto aryáḥ

May they grant renown to our heroes; may the pious advance boldly towards wealth.

Stanza 7.34.19

तप॑न्ति॒ शत्रुं॒ स्व१॒॑र्ण भूमा॑ म॒हासे॑नासो॒ अमे॑भिरेषाम् ||

tápanti śátruṁ svàr ṇá bhū́mā mahā́senāso ámebhir eṣām

Leading great hosts, they burn the enemy with their might, like the sun on the earth.

Stanza 7.34.20

आ यन्नः॒ पत्नी॒र्गम॒न्त्यच्छा॒ त्वष्टा॑ सुपा॒णिर्दधा॑तु वी॒रान् ||

ā́ yán naḥ pátnīr gámanty áchā tváṣṭā supāṇír dádhātu vīrā́n

When our wives come towards us, may Tvaṣṭar, the skilled craftsman, give us heroes.

Stanza 7.34.21

प्रति॑ नः॒ स्तोमं॒ त्वष्टा॑ जुषेत॒ स्याद॒स्मे अ॒रम॑तिर्वसू॒युः ||

práti na stómaṁ tváṣṭā juṣeta syā́d asmé arámatir vasūyúḥ

May Tvaṣṭar accept our hymn; may Aramati, seeking wealth, be with us.

Stanza 7.34.22

ता नो॑ रासन्राति॒षाचो॒ वसू॒न्या रोद॑सी वरुणा॒नी शृ॑णोतु | वरू॑त्रीभिः सुशर॒णो नो॑ अस्तु॒ त्वष्टा॑ सु॒दत्रो॒ वि द॑धातु॒ रायः॑ ||

tā́ no rāsan rātiṣā́co vásūny ā́ ródasī varuṇānī́ śr̥ṇotu várūtrībhiḥ suśaraṇó no astu tváṣṭā sudátro ví dadhātu rā́yaḥ

May those who give gifts bestow treasures on us; may Rodasî and Varunânî listen. May [Agni] be our refuge with protection; may bountiful Tvaṣṭar distribute riches.

Stanza 7.34.23

तन्नो॒ रायः॒ पर्व॑ता॒स्तन्न॒ आप॒स्तद्रा॑ति॒षाच॒ ओष॑धीरु॒त द्यौः | वन॒स्पति॑भिः पृथि॒वी स॒जोषा॑ उ॒भे रोद॑सी॒ परि॑ पासतो नः ||

tán no rā́yaḥ párvatās tán na ā́pas tád rātiṣā́ca óṣadhīr utá dyaúḥ vánaspátibhiḥ pr̥thivī́ sajóṣā ubhé ródasī pári pāsato naḥ

May the mountains, waters, herbs, sky, and trees, along with the earth, favor us. May both Earth and Sky protect us.

Stanza 7.34.24

अनु॒ तदु॒र्वी रोद॑सी जिहाता॒मनु॑ द्यु॒क्षो वरु॑ण॒ इन्द्र॑सखा | अनु॒ विश्वे॑ म॒रुतो॒ ये स॒हासो॑ रा॒यः स्या॑म ध॒रुणं॑ धि॒यध्यै॑ ||

ánu tád urvī́ ródasī jihātām ánu dyukṣó váruṇa índrasakhā ánu víśve marúto yé sahā́so rāyáḥ syāma dharúṇaṁ dhiyádhyai

May these two wide worlds agree to this; may Varuṇa in heaven, Indra's friend, and all the victorious Maruts agree, that we may firmly hold wealth.

Stanza 7.34.25

तन्न॒ इन्द्रो॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॒ग्निराप॒ ओष॑धीर्व॒निनो॑ जुषन्त | शर्म॑न्त्स्याम म॒रुता॑मु॒पस्थे॑ यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः ||

tán na índro váruṇo mitró agnír ā́pa óṣadhīr vaníno juṣanta śárman syāma marútām upásthe yūyám pāta svastíbhiḥ sádā naḥ

May Indra, Varuṇa, Mitra, Agni, the waters, the plants, and the trees accept us. May we be in the protection of the Maruts. May you always protect us with well-being.
