Soma, not yet pressed, never pleased Indra; nor did unoffered juices please the liberal giver. Therefore, I create a hymn that he may favor, new and heroic, so that he may hear us.
This verse expresses a desire for Indra to be pleased not by unpressed Soma or prayers offered without proper rituals, but by the hymns sung by the devotees. The speaker is creating a new, powerful hymn, hoping it will reach and please Indra, thus ensuring his attention and favor.

This verse describes how Indra is pleased by the Soma juice and the praises offered to him at every ritual occasion. It compares the devotion of the people calling upon Indra to the way children call upon their father for help, emphasizing the deep connection and reliance on Indra.
