    Stanza 6.8.1

    पृ॒क्षस्य॒ वृष्णो॑ अरु॒षस्य॒ नू सहः॒ प्र नु वो॑चं वि॒दथा॑ जा॒तवे॑दसः | वै॒श्वा॒न॒राय॑ म॒तिर्नव्य॑सी॒ शुचिः॒ सोम॑ इव पवते॒ चारु॑र॒ग्नये॑ ||

    pr̥kṣásya vŕ̥ṣṇo aruṣásya nū́ sáhaḥ prá nú vocaṁ vidáthā jātávedasaḥ vaiśvānarā́ya matír návyasī śúciḥ sóma iva pavate cā́rur agnáye

    I will now declare the mighty, swift, and radiant strength of Jātavedas. This pure and new hymn flows to Vaiśvānara, just as the delightful Soma flows for Agni.

    Stanza 6.8.2

    स जाय॑मानः पर॒मे व्यो॑मनि व्र॒तान्य॒ग्निर्व्र॑त॒पा अ॑रक्षत | व्य१॒॑न्तरि॑क्षममिमीत सु॒क्रतु॑र्वैश्वान॒रो म॑हि॒ना नाक॑मस्पृशत् ||

    sá jā́yamānaḥ paramé vyòmani vratā́ny agnír vratapā́ arakṣata vy àntárikṣam amimīta sukrátur vaiśvānaró mahinā́ nā́kam aspr̥śat

    As Agni was born in the highest heaven, he, the guardian of vows, protected them. With great wisdom, he measured the atmosphere, and Vaiśvānara touched the sky with his greatness.

    Stanza 6.8.3

    व्य॑स्तभ्ना॒द्रोद॑सी मि॒त्रो अद्भु॑तोऽन्त॒र्वाव॑दकृणो॒ज्ज्योति॑षा॒ तमः॑ | वि चर्म॑णीव धि॒षणे॑ अवर्तयद्वैश्वान॒रो विश्व॑मधत्त॒ वृष्ण्य॑म् ||

    vy àstabhnād ródasī mitró ádbhuto 'ntarvā́vad akr̥ṇoj jyótiṣā támaḥ ví cármaṇīva dhiṣáṇe avartayad vaiśvānaró víśvam adhatta vŕ̥ṣṇyam

    The wonderful one (Agni/Mitra) supported the heaven and earth, and covered the darkness with light. He set the two celestial receptacles in motion like two skins. Vaiśvānara embraced everything with his power.

    Stanza 6.8.4

    अ॒पामु॒पस्थे॑ महि॒षा अ॑गृभ्णत॒ विशो॒ राजा॑न॒मुप॑ तस्थुर्ऋ॒ग्मिय॑म् | आ दू॒तो अ॒ग्निम॑भरद्वि॒वस्व॑तो वैश्वान॒रं मा॑त॒रिश्वा॑ परा॒वतः॑ ||

    apā́m upásthe mahiṣā́ agr̥bhṇata víśo rā́jānam úpa tasthur r̥gmíyam ā́ dūtó agním abharad vivásvato vaiśvānarám mātaríśvā parāvátaḥ

    The powerful ones grasped him in the waters. The people approached the king worthy of praise. Mātariśvan brought Agni Vaiśvānara, the messenger of Vivasvan, from a far-off place.

    Stanza 6.8.5

    यु॒गेयु॑गे विद॒थ्यं॑ गृ॒णद्भ्योऽग्ने॑ र॒यिं य॒शसं॑ धेहि॒ नव्य॑सीम् | प॒व्येव॑ राजन्न॒घशं॑समजर नी॒चा नि वृ॑श्च व॒निनं॒ न तेज॑सा ||

    yugé-yuge vidathyàṁ gr̥ṇádbhyó 'gne rayíṁ yaśásaṁ dhehi návyasīm pavyéva rājann agháśaṁsam ajara nīcā́ ní vr̥śca vanínaṁ ná téjasā

    Agni, in every age, grant wealth to the singers that is worthy, brilliant, and ever new. O King, unaging one, strike down the sinner like a tree with your bright, sharp power.

    Stanza 6.8.6

    अ॒स्माक॑मग्ने म॒घव॑त्सु धार॒याना॑मि क्ष॒त्रम॒जरं॑ सु॒वीर्य॑म् | व॒यं ज॑येम श॒तिनं॑ सह॒स्रिणं॒ वैश्वा॑नर॒ वाज॑मग्ने॒ तवो॒तिभिः॑ ||

    asmā́kam agne maghávatsu dhārayā́nāmi kṣatrám ajáraṁ suvī́ryam vayáṁ jayema śatínaṁ sahasríṇaṁ vaíśvānara vā́jam agne távotíbhiḥ

    O Agni, sustain our leadership and undecaying strength among the wealthy. May we conquer the hundredfold and thousandfold enemies. O Vaiśvānara Agni, may we win through your help.

    Stanza 6.8.7

    अद॑ब्धेभि॒स्तव॑ गो॒पाभि॑रिष्टे॒ऽस्माकं॑ पाहि त्रिषधस्थ सू॒रीन् | रक्षा॑ च नो द॒दुषां॒ शर्धो॑ अग्ने॒ वैश्वा॑नर॒ प्र च॑ तारीः॒ स्तवा॑नः ||

    ádabdhebhis táva gopā́bhir iṣṭe 'smā́kam pāhi triṣadhastha sūrī́n rákṣā ca no dadúṣāṁ śárdho agne vaíśvānara prá ca tārī stávānaḥ

    O Agni, residing in three places, protect our patrons with your unfailing guards. Protect us, O Agni, who have given offerings. O Vaiśvānara, praised one, advance us with your strength.
