We praise the righteous people with new songs, Mitra and Varuna, who bring happiness. May you come here, may you listen here, you who are well-governed, Varuṇa, Mitra, and Agni.

O youthful, wise, and worshipful Maruts, come to our praise. As you formerly did for Angiras, O heroes, you animate and increase even the non-brilliant.
The Maruts, described as youthful, wise, and worthy of worship, are invited to come to the singer's hymn. The stanza implores them, as they did in the past for Angiras, to energize and increase even the non-resplendent or seemingly empty spaces with their might.

As a herdsman guides his herd, I urge the swift hero with my hymns. He touches the body of the renowned one. May he cover us with stars, like the heaven, with words of the wise.
The speaker, like a herdsman guiding his cattle, urges his hymns towards a strong and swift hero (likely Agni or another deity). This hero, who is glorious and associated with the dawn, is asked to envelop the singer with his songs, just as stars adorn the heavens.

He who, for distressed man, measured the earthly realms thrice, Vishnu – may we, under your protection and shelter, rejoice with wealth and ourselves.
The stanza refers to Vishnu's action of measuring the earthly realms three times for the benefit of mankind, especially when afflicted. It then invokes this mighty Vishnu, asking that under his protection and shelter, the singers may rejoice with wealth and themselves.
