O Vasu, grant us, as humans need, abundant cattle for children and offspring. May we have plentiful food, free from evil, and may good fame bring us happiness.
The worshippers implore Agni ('Vasu') to grant them what humans need ('nr̥vát') and to provide them constantly ('sádam ít') with abundant wealth ('bhūri') of cattle ('paśváḥ') for their children ('tokā́ya tanayāya'). They also wish for abundant food ('pūrvī́r iṣaḥ br̥hatī́r'), free from evil ('āréaḡhāḥ'), and for good fame ('bhadrā́ sauśravasā́ni') to bring them happiness.

O Agni, King, may I obtain abundant wealth in many ways through your grace and worship. For in you, O bestower of many gifts, O King Agni, are many riches for the one who serves you.
The devotee expresses a desire to obtain abundant wealth ('purū́ṇi vásūni') in many places ('purudhā́') through Agni's grace ('tvāyā vasútā te') and his own worship ('vidhaté'). They recognize Agni as 'puruvāra' (bestower of many gifts) and 'rājan' (king), and acknowledge that many riches ('purū́ṇi ... vásu') exist within him for the one who serves him.
