Stanza 6.19.1

म॒हाँ इन्द्रो॑ नृ॒वदा च॑र्षणि॒प्रा उ॒त द्वि॒बर्हा॑ अमि॒नः सहो॑भिः | अ॒स्म॒द्र्य॑ग्वावृधे वी॒र्या॑यो॒रुः पृ॒थुः सुकृ॑तः क॒र्तृभि॑र्भूत् ||

mahā́m̐ índro nr̥vád ā́ carṣaṇiprā́ utá dvibárhā amináḥ sáhobhiḥ asmadryàg vāvr̥dhe vīryāā̀yorúḥ pr̥thúḥ súkr̥taḥ kartŕ̥bhir bhūt

Indra, the great one, like a hero, controls people. He is also immense and unwavering in his strengths. Turned towards us, he has grown in heroic vigor. He is broad and vast, adorned by those who serve him.

Stanza 6.19.2

इन्द्र॑मे॒व धि॒षणा॑ सा॒तये॑ धाद्बृ॒हन्त॑मृ॒ष्वम॒जरं॒ युवा॑नम् | अषा॑ळ्हेन॒ शव॑सा शूशु॒वांसं॑ स॒द्यश्चि॒द्यो वा॑वृ॒धे असा॑मि ||

índram evá dhiṣáṇā sātáye dhād br̥hántam r̥ṣvám ajáraṁ yúvānam áṣāḷhena śávasā śūśuvā́ṁsaṁ sadyáś cid yó vāvr̥dhé ásāmi

May the offering make Indra ready for acquisition. He is great, strong, undecaying, and youthful. With unconquerable strength, he has grown to perfection.

Stanza 6.19.3

पृ॒थू क॒रस्ना॑ बहु॒ला गभ॑स्ती अस्म॒द्र्य१॒॑क्सं मि॑मीहि॒ श्रवां॑सि | यू॒थेव॑ प॒श्वः प॑शु॒पा दमू॑ना अ॒स्माँ इ॑न्द्रा॒भ्या व॑वृत्स्वा॒जौ ||

pr̥thū́ karásnā bahulā́ gábhastī asmadryàk sám mimīhi śrávāṁsi yūthéva paśváḥ paśupā́ dámūnā asmā́m̐ indrābhy ā́ vavr̥tsvājaú

Extend your broad arms towards us, Indra. Measure out glory for us. Like a herdman watches his cattle, surround us in battle.

Stanza 6.19.4

तं व॒ इन्द्रं॑ च॒तिन॑मस्य शा॒कैरि॒ह नू॒नं वा॑ज॒यन्तो॑ हुवेम | यथा॑ चि॒त्पूर्वे॑ जरि॒तार॑ आ॒सुरने॑द्या अनव॒द्या अरि॑ष्टाः ||

táṁ va índraṁ catínam asya śākaír ihá nūnáṁ vājayánto huvema yáthā cit pū́rve jaritā́ra āsúr ánedyā anavadyā́ áriṣṭāḥ

Now, desiring victory, let us call Indra, who is here with his heroes. Just as the ancient worshippers, who were blameless and uninjured, praised him, so too shall we.

Stanza 6.19.5

धृ॒तव्र॑तो धन॒दाः सोम॑वृद्धः॒ स हि वा॒मस्य॒ वसु॑नः पुरु॒क्षुः | सं ज॑ग्मिरे प॒थ्या॒३॒॑ रायो॑ अस्मिन्त्समु॒द्रे न सिन्ध॑वो॒ याद॑मानाः ||

dhr̥távrato dhanadā́ḥ sómavr̥ddhaḥ sá hí vāmásya vásunaḥ purukṣúḥ sáṁ jagmire pathyāā̀ rā́yo asmin samudré ná síndhavo yā́damānāḥ

Indra, who upholds vows, gives wealth, and is strengthened by Soma, possesses abundant riches. All riches gather in him like rivers flowing into the ocean.

Stanza 6.19.6

शवि॑ष्ठं न॒ आ भ॑र शूर॒ शव॒ ओजि॑ष्ठ॒मोजो॑ अभिभूत उ॒ग्रम् | विश्वा॑ द्यु॒म्ना वृष्ण्या॒ मानु॑षाणाम॒स्मभ्यं॑ दा हरिवो माद॒यध्यै॑ ||

śáviṣṭhaṁ na ā́ bhara śūra śáva ójiṣṭham ójo abhibhūta ugrám víśvā dyumnā́ vŕ̥ṣṇyā mā́nuṣāṇām asmábhyaṁ dā harivo mādayádhyai

Bring us your mightiest strength, O Hero, your most potent power, O fierce subduer! Give us all the brilliant and vigorous strengths of humans, Indra, that we may rejoice.

Stanza 6.19.7

यस्ते॒ मदः॑ पृतना॒षाळमृ॑ध्र॒ इन्द्र॒ तं न॒ आ भ॑र शूशु॒वांस॑म् | येन॑ तो॒कस्य॒ तन॑यस्य सा॒तौ मं॑सी॒महि॑ जिगी॒वांस॒स्त्वोताः॑ ||

yás te mádaḥ pr̥tanāṣā́ḷ ámr̥dhra índra táṁ na ā́ bhara śūśuvā́ṁsam yéna tokásya tánayasya sātaú maṁsīmáhi jigīvā́ṁsas tvótāḥ

Indra, bring us your mighty, victorious, and unfailing joy. With your help, may we gain offspring and possessions, being triumphant and protected.

Stanza 6.19.8

आ नो॑ भर॒ वृष॑णं॒ शुष्म॑मिन्द्र धन॒स्पृतं॑ शूशु॒वांसं॑ सु॒दक्ष॑म् | येन॒ वंसा॑म॒ पृत॑नासु॒ शत्रू॒न्तवो॒तिभि॑रु॒त जा॒मीँरजा॑मीन् ||

ā́ no bhara vŕ̥ṣaṇaṁ śúṣmam indra dhanaspŕ̥taṁ śūśuvā́ṁsaṁ sudákṣam yéna váṁsāma pŕ̥tanāsu śátrūn távotíbhir utá jāmī́m̐r ájāmīn

Indra, bring us your strong, wealth-acquiring, and skilled power. With your help, may we conquer enemies in battle, whether they are kin or strangers.

Stanza 6.19.9

आ ते॒ शुष्मो॑ वृष॒भ ए॑तु प॒श्चादोत्त॒राद॑ध॒रादा पु॒रस्ता॑त् | आ वि॒श्वतो॑ अ॒भि समे॑त्व॒र्वाङिन्द्र॑ द्यु॒म्नं स्व॑र्वद्धेह्य॒स्मे ||

ā́ te śúṣmo vr̥ṣabhá etu paścā́d óttarā́d adharā́d ā́ purástāt ā́ viśváto abhí sám etv arvā́ṅ índra dyumnáṁ svàrvad dhehy asmé

Let your strong and heroic strength come to us from behind, from above, from below, and from the front. Let it come to us from all sides, Indra. Grant us shining glory and wealth.

Stanza 6.19.10

नृ॒वत्त॑ इन्द्र॒ नृत॑माभिरू॒ती वं॑सी॒महि॑ वा॒मं श्रोम॑तेभिः | ईक्षे॒ हि वस्व॑ उ॒भय॑स्य राज॒न्धा रत्नं॒ महि॑ स्थू॒रं बृ॒हन्त॑म् ||

nr̥vát ta indra nŕ̥tamābhir ūtī́ vaṁsīmáhi vāmáṁ śrómatebhiḥ ī́kṣe hí vásva ubháyasya rājan dhā́ rátnam máhi sthūrám br̥hántam

Indra, like heroes, may we win great and glorious wealth through your most heroic aid. You are the lord of all wealth, king; grant us vast, substantial, and enduring riches.

Stanza 6.19.11

म॒रुत्व॑न्तं वृष॒भं वा॑वृधा॒नमक॑वारिं दि॒व्यं शा॒समिन्द्र॑म् | वि॒श्वा॒साह॒मव॑से॒ नूत॑नायो॒ग्रं स॑हो॒दामि॒ह तं हु॑वेम ||

marútvantaṁ vr̥ṣabháṁ vāvr̥dhānám ákavāriṁ divyáṁ śāsám índram viśvāsā́ham ávase nū́tanāyográṁ sahodā́m ihá táṁ huvema

Indra, the bull, growing and unassailable, the celestial ruler with the Maruts, all-conquering and strength-giving – him we call for new protection.

Stanza 6.19.12

जनं॑ वज्रि॒न्महि॑ चि॒न्मन्य॑मानमे॒भ्यो नृभ्यो॑ रन्धया॒ येष्वस्मि॑ | अधा॒ हि त्वा॑ पृथि॒व्यां शूर॑सातौ॒ हवा॑महे॒ तन॑ये॒ गोष्व॒प्सु ||

jánaṁ vajrin máhi cin mányamānam ebhyó nŕ̥bhyo randhayā yéṣv ásmi ádhā hí tvā pr̥thivyā́ṁ śū́rasātau hávāmahe tánaye góṣv apsú

O Thunder-wielder, Indra, make proud people yield to us. For on earth, in heroic contests, we call on you for children, cattle, and wealth.

Stanza 6.19.13

व॒यं त॑ ए॒भिः पु॑रुहूत स॒ख्यैः शत्रोः॑शत्रो॒रुत्त॑र॒ इत्स्या॑म | घ्नन्तो॑ वृ॒त्राण्यु॒भया॑नि शूर रा॒या म॑देम बृह॒ता त्वोताः॑ ||

vayáṁ ta ebhíḥ puruhūta sakhyaíḥ śátroḥ-śatror úttara ít syāma ghnánto vr̥trā́ṇy ubháyāni śūra rāyā́ madema br̥hatā́ tvótāḥ

Indra, through your friendships, may we be supreme over every enemy. Slaying both kinds of foes, may we be joyful with your great help and abundant wealth.
