    Stanza 5.8.1

    त्वाम॑ग्न ऋता॒यवः॒ समी॑धिरे प्र॒त्नं प्र॒त्नास॑ ऊ॒तये॑ सहस्कृत | पु॒रु॒श्च॒न्द्रं य॑ज॒तं वि॒श्वधा॑यसं॒ दमू॑नसं गृ॒हप॑तिं॒ वरे॑ण्यम् ||

    tvā́m agna r̥tāyávaḥ sám īdhire pratnám pratnā́sa ūtáye sahaskr̥ta puruścandráṁ yajatáṁ viśvádhāyasaṁ dámūnasaṁ gr̥hápatiṁ váreṇyam

    For your aid, O Agni, those who seek truth have kindled you, the ancient and powerful one. You are brilliant, worshipped, sustaining all, a devoted master of the home, worthy of praise.

    Stanza 5.8.2

    त्वाम॑ग्ने॒ अति॑थिं पू॒र्व्यं विशः॑ शो॒चिष्के॑शं गृ॒हप॑तिं॒ नि षे॑दिरे | बृ॒हत्के॑तुं पुरु॒रूपं॑ धन॒स्पृतं॑ सु॒शर्मा॑णं॒ स्वव॑सं जर॒द्विष॑म् ||

    tvā́m agne átithim pūrvyáṁ víśaḥ śocíṣkeśaṁ gr̥hápatiṁ ní ṣedire br̥hátketum pururū́paṁ dhanaspŕ̥taṁ suśármāṇaṁ svávasaṁ jaradvíṣam

    O Agni, the communities have established you, the ancient guest with fiery hair, as their house master. You possess a great radiance, many forms, and are a bringer of wealth, a good protector, and a strong sustainer.

    Stanza 5.8.3

    त्वाम॑ग्ने॒ मानु॑षीरीळते॒ विशो॑ होत्रा॒विदं॒ विवि॑चिं रत्न॒धात॑मम् | गुहा॒ सन्तं॑ सुभग वि॒श्वद॑र्शतं तुविष्व॒णसं॑ सु॒यजं॑ घृत॒श्रिय॑म् ||

    tvā́m agne mā́nuṣīr īḷate víśo hotrāvídaṁ víviciṁ ratnadhā́tamam gúhā sántaṁ subhaga viśvádarśataṁ tuviṣvaṇásaṁ suyájaṁ ghr̥taśríyam

    O Agni, human communities praise you, who know the rituals, who discerns, and is the greatest bestower of treasures. Dwelling in secret, O glorious one, you are visible to all, mighty in sound, excellent in worship, and radiant with ghee.

    Stanza 5.8.4

    त्वाम॑ग्ने धर्ण॒सिं वि॒श्वधा॑ व॒यं गी॒र्भिर्गृ॒णन्तो॒ नम॒सोप॑ सेदिम | स नो॑ जुषस्व समिधा॒नो अ॑ङ्गिरो दे॒वो मर्त॑स्य य॒शसा॑ सुदी॒तिभिः॑ ||

    tvā́m agne dharṇasíṁ viśvádhā vayáṁ gīrbhír gr̥ṇánto námasópa sedima sá no juṣasva samidhānó aṅgiro devó mártasya yaśásā sudītíbhiḥ

    O Agni, the strong supporter, we approach you with songs and adoration. O Angiras, as a god, be pleased with us through the mortal's glorious offerings and brilliant splendor.

    Stanza 5.8.5

    त्वम॑ग्ने पुरु॒रूपो॑ वि॒शेवि॑शे॒ वयो॑ दधासि प्र॒त्नथा॑ पुरुष्टुत | पु॒रूण्यन्ना॒ सह॑सा॒ वि रा॑जसि॒ त्विषिः॒ सा ते॑ तित्विषा॒णस्य॒ नाधृषे॑ ||

    tvám agne pururū́po viśé-viśe váyo dadhāsi pratnáthā puruṣṭuta purū́ṇy ánnā sáhasā ví rājasi tvíṣiḥ sā́ te titviṣāṇásya nā́dhŕ̥ṣe

    O Agni, much-praised one, you are multi-formed and ancient. You give strength to every house. With your might, you rule over abundant food and shine brilliantly, an unstoppable force.

    Stanza 5.8.6

    त्वाम॑ग्ने समिधा॒नं य॑विष्ठ्य दे॒वा दू॒तं च॑क्रिरे हव्य॒वाह॑नम् | उ॒रु॒ज्रय॑सं घृ॒तयो॑नि॒माहु॑तं त्वे॒षं चक्षु॑र्दधिरे चोद॒यन्म॑ति ||

    tvā́m agne samidhānáṁ yaviṣṭhya devā́ dūtáṁ cakrire havyavā́hanam urujráyasaṁ ghr̥táyonim ā́hutaṁ tveṣáṁ cákṣur dadhire codayánmati

    O Agni, most youthful one, the gods have made you their messenger and bearer of offerings, when kindled. They established you, who reach wide, reside in ghee, are invoked, brilliant, and inspire thought, as their eye.

    Stanza 5.8.7

    त्वाम॑ग्ने प्र॒दिव॒ आहु॑तं घृ॒तैः सु॑म्ना॒यवः॑ सुष॒मिधा॒ समी॑धिरे | स वा॑वृधा॒न ओष॑धीभिरुक्षि॒तो॒३॒॑ऽभि ज्रयां॑सि॒ पार्थि॑वा॒ वि ति॑ष्ठसे ||

    tvā́m agne pradíva ā́hutaṁ ghr̥taíḥ sumnāyávaḥ suṣamídhā sám īdhire sá vāvr̥dhāná óṣadhībhir ukṣitò 'bhí jráyāṁsi pā́rthivā ví tiṣṭhase

    O Agni, worshipped with ghee and good fuel, those seeking joy have kindled you from of old. Grown strong and nourished by plants, you spread widely across the earth.
