सखा॑यः॒ सं वः॑ स॒म्यञ्च॒मिषं॒ स्तोमं॑ चा॒ग्नये॑ | वर्षि॑ष्ठाय क्षिती॒नामू॒र्जो नप्त्रे॒ सह॑स्वते ||
sákhāyaḥ sáṁ vaḥ samyáñcam íṣaṁ stómaṁ cāgnáye várṣiṣṭhāya kṣitīnā́m ūrjó náptre sáhasvate
O friends, let us together bring food and praise to Agni, the highest among inhabitants, the son of energy, the mighty one.
The sage addresses his friends, urging them to unite in offering praise and food to Agni, the supreme deity residing among humanity. Agni is described as the offspring of cosmic energy and inherently powerful.

Where his onslaught occurs, there men rejoice in their seats; worthy ones kindle him, and living beings produce him.

When we gather the food and the offerings of humans, he grasps, with the strength of his brilliance, the rein of order.

This verse describes how people, through their diligent efforts, offer their 'sweat' or hard work on the paths of devotion or duty. In response, the divine entity, possessing inherent nobility, is perceived as ascending or manifesting, like mountain ridges on the earth.
