ā́ dhenávaḥ páyasā tū́rṇyarthā ámardhantīr úpa no yantu mádhvā mahó rāyé br̥hatī́ḥ saptá vípro mayobhúvo jaritā́ johavīti

May the cows, full of milk and eager, come to us harmlessly with sweetness. For great wealth, the singer, praising, calls upon the seven mighty, joy-bringing ones.

Stanza 5.43.2

With good praise and reverence, may Heaven and Earth come for strength. Father and Mother, sweet of speech and fair-handed, may they protect us in every struggle.

Stanza 5.43.3

O Adhvaryus, having prepared the sweet libations, bring pure and bright Soma to Vayu. O God, like our priest, drink first; we offer you Soma for your delight.

Stanza 5.43.4

Ten fingers and two arms skillfully join the press-stone for the Soma. The stalk has yielded its bright essence, the mead's juice, which resides on the mountain.

Stanza 5.43.5

añjánti yám pratháyanto ná víprā vapā́vantaṁ nā́gnínā tápantaḥ pitúr ná putrá upási préṣṭha ā́ gharmó agním r̥táyann asādi

The singers adorn it, not heating it with fire, like a father's beloved child. Near the fire, the sacred vessel, gleaming, is placed.

Stanza 5.43.8

Hither come the great, excellent songs like messengers to invite the Ashvins. Joy-givers, come in one chariot! Like a bolt, come hither to the joint.

Stanza 5.43.9

I have spoken this word of praise to the mighty Pushan and the swift Vayu. They, with their gifts, inspire thoughts and also bestow wealth.

Stanza 5.43.10

May Sarasvati, the holy one, come from great heaven and from the mountain to our sacrifice. May the gracious goddess, pleased, hear our valuable speech and invocation.

Stanza 5.43.12

O worshippers, place the great Brihaspati, the disposer with the dark back, in his seat. May we serve him, shining brightly, golden-hued, and red.

Stanza 5.43.13

The eloquent ones approached the highest, pure place of the eternal. Like people dressing a child, they purify the auspicious one with offered gifts.

Stanza 5.43.15
