अग्ने॑ पावक रो॒चिषा॑ म॒न्द्रया॑ देव जि॒ह्वया॑ | आ दे॒वान्व॑क्षि॒ यक्षि॑ च ||
ágne pāvaka rocíṣā mandráyā deva jihváyā ā́ devā́n vakṣi yákṣi ca
O Agni, you who are pure and radiant, with your divine splendor and your delightful tongue, O god, bring the gods here and perform the sacrifice.

We approach you, O Agni, who are bathed in ghee (sacrificial butter), brilliant in light, and have a sun-like appearance. Bring the gods here so that they may feast.

O Agni, bring heroic strength to the sacrificer who presses the Soma. Sit with the gods on the sacred grass.

Place Agni, the knower of all born beings, the carrier of offerings, the youngest and most vigorous, as the divine priest.
