Stanza 5.22.1
प्र वि॑श्वसामन्नत्रि॒वदर्चा॑ पाव॒कशो॑चिषे | यो अ॑ध्व॒रेष्वीड्यो॒ होता॑ म॒न्द्रत॑मो वि॒शि ||
prá viśvasāmann atrivád árcā pāvakáśociṣe yó adhvaréṣv ī́ḍyo hótā mandrátamo viśí
O Viśvasāman, sing like Atri to the one with purifying radiance! Worship the Hotri who is praised in sacrifices and is most delightful in the home.
The stanza is an invocation to Agni, addressed by the name Viśvasāman. न्य१॒॑ग्निं जा॒तवे॑दसं॒ दधा॑ता दे॒वमृ॒त्विज॑म् | प्र य॒ज्ञ ए॑त्वानु॒षग॒द्या दे॒वव्य॑चस्तमः ||
ny àgníṁ jātávedasaṁ dádhātā devám r̥tvíjam prá yajñá etv ānuṣág adyā́ devávyacastamaḥ
Establish Agni, the god Jātavedas, as the priest. May the sacrifice, which best includes the gods, proceed today in orderly succession.
This stanza instructs the sacrificers to establish Agni, known as Jātavedas (knower of all births), as the divine officiant priest. It then commands the sacrifice to proceed smoothly and in proper order today, ensuring it encompasses all the gods and is conducted with the greatest skill.

We mortals, coming to you, the god with an attentive mind, for your help, have thought of your desirable aid.
Mortals are described as approaching the intelligent god Agni for his help. They reflect on and remember his desirable assistance, indicating a deep faith and reliance on Agni's support for their well-being and success.

O Agni, pay attention to this word of ours! O powerful one, lord of the house with beautiful jaws, we Atris strengthen you with praises and beautify you with songs.
This verse is a direct address to Agni, calling him to pay attention to the hymn sung by the Atri family. Agni is praised as powerful, having bright jaws, and being the lord of the household.
