Stanza 5.14.1

अ॒ग्निं स्तोमे॑न बोधय समिधा॒नो अम॑र्त्यम् | ह॒व्या दे॒वेषु॑ नो दधत् ||

agníṁ stómena bodhaya samidhānó ámartyam havyā́ devéṣu no dadhat

Awaken Agni, the immortal one, with songs of praise and hymns. May he carry our offerings to the gods.

Stanza 5.14.2

तम॑ध्व॒रेष्वी॑ळते दे॒वं मर्ता॒ अम॑र्त्यम् | यजि॑ष्ठं॒ मानु॑षे॒ जने॑ ||

tám adhvaréṣv īḷate devám mártā ámartyam yájiṣṭham mā́nuṣe jáne

Mortals praise him, the immortal god, in their sacrifices, recognizing him as the best among men.

Stanza 5.14.3

तं हि शश्व॑न्त॒ ईळ॑ते स्रु॒चा दे॒वं घृ॑त॒श्चुता॑ | अ॒ग्निं ह॒व्याय॒ वोळ्ह॑वे ||

táṁ hí śáśvanta ī́ḷate srucā́ deváṁ ghr̥taścútā agníṁ havyā́ya vóḷhave

Indeed, all praise him, the god Agni, with the ghee-dripping ladle, so that he may carry the offerings.

Stanza 5.14.4

अ॒ग्निर्जा॒तो अ॑रोचत॒ घ्नन्दस्यू॒ञ्ज्योति॑षा॒ तमः॑ | अवि॑न्द॒द्गा अ॒पः स्वः॑ ||

agnír jātó arocata ghnán dásyūñ jyótiṣā támaḥ ávindad gā́ apáḥ svàḥ

When Agni was born, he shone brightly, killing the Dasyus and darkness with his light. He found the cows, the waters, and the sun.

Stanza 5.14.5

अ॒ग्निमी॒ळेन्यं॑ क॒विं घृ॒तपृ॑ष्ठं सपर्यत | वेतु॑ मे शृ॒णव॒द्धव॑म् ||

agním īḷényaṁ kavíṁ ghr̥tápr̥ṣṭhaṁ saparyata vétu me śr̥ṇávad dhávam

Worship Agni, the adorable sage with a ghee-covered back. May he come and hear my call.

Stanza 5.14.6

अ॒ग्निं घृ॒तेन॑ वावृधुः॒ स्तोमे॑भिर्वि॒श्वच॑र्षणिम् | स्वा॒धीभि॑र्वच॒स्युभिः॑ ||

agníṁ ghr̥téna vāvr̥dhu stómebhir viśvácarṣaṇim svādhī́bhir vacasyúbhiḥ

They have nourished Agni, the one who sees all, with ghee and with hymns and eloquent prayers.
