Stanza 4.28.1

त्वा यु॒जा तव॒ तत्सो॑म स॒ख्य इन्द्रो॑ अ॒पो मन॑वे स॒स्रुत॑स्कः | अह॒न्नहि॒मरि॑णात्स॒प्त सिन्धू॒नपा॑वृणो॒दपि॑हितेव॒ खानि॑ ||

tvā́ yujā́ táva tát soma sakhyá índro apó mánave sasrútas kaḥ áhann áhim áriṇāt saptá síndhūn ápāvr̥ṇod ápihiteva khā́ni

With your alliance, O Soma, in this friendship, Indra made waters flow together for man. He slew the serpent (Ahi), set free the seven rivers, and opened up obstructed springs.

Stanza 4.28.2

त्वा यु॒जा नि खि॑द॒त्सूर्य॒स्येन्द्र॑श्च॒क्रं सह॑सा स॒द्य इ॑न्दो | अधि॒ ष्णुना॑ बृह॒ता वर्त॑मानं म॒हो द्रु॒हो अप॑ वि॒श्वायु॑ धायि ||

tvā́ yujā́ ní khidat sū́ryasyéndraś cakráṁ sáhasā sadyá indo ádhi ṣṇúnā br̥hatā́ vártamānam mahó druhó ápa viśvā́yu dhāyi

O Soma, with you as a companion, Indra, with might, swiftly pressed down Surya's wheel. What was rolling on the great summit was separated from the oppressive force, supporting all life.

Stanza 4.28.3

अह॒न्निन्द्रो॒ अद॑हद॒ग्निरि॑न्दो पु॒रा दस्यू॑न्म॒ध्यंदि॑नाद॒भीके॑ | दु॒र्गे दु॑रो॒णे क्रत्वा॒ न या॒तां पु॒रू स॒हस्रा॒ शर्वा॒ नि ब॑र्हीत् ||

áhann índro ádahad agnír indo purā́ dásyūn madhyáṁdinād abhī́ke durgé duroṇé krátvā ná yātā́m purū́ sahásrā śárvā ní barhīt

Indra struck down, and Agni consumed, O Soma, the Dasyus before midday in the battle. With their power, they cast down many thousands of enemies who sought refuge in strong, fortified dwellings.

Stanza 4.28.4

विश्व॑स्मात्सीमध॒माँ इ॑न्द्र॒ दस्यू॒न्विशो॒ दासी॑रकृणोरप्रश॒स्ताः | अबा॑धेथा॒ममृ॑णतं॒ नि शत्रू॒नवि॑न्देथा॒मप॑चितिं॒ वध॑त्रैः ||

víśvasmāt sīm adhamā́m̐ indra dásyūn víśo dā́sīr akr̥ṇor apraśastā́ḥ ábādhethām ámr̥ṇataṁ ní śátrūn ávindethām ápacitiṁ vádhatraiḥ

Indra, you have cast down the Dasyus, those despised Dasas, lower than all. You two (Indra and Soma) have driven away the enemies, made them powerless, and defeated them with deadly weapons.

Stanza 4.28.5

ए॒वा स॒त्यं म॑घवाना यु॒वं तदिन्द्र॑श्च सोमो॒र्वमश्व्यं॒ गोः | आद॑र्दृत॒मपि॑हिता॒न्यश्ना॑ रिरि॒चथुः॒ क्षाश्चि॑त्ततृदा॒ना ||

evā́ satyám maghavānā yuváṁ tád índraś ca somorvám áśvyaṁ góḥ ā́dardr̥tam ápihitāny áśnā riricáthuḥ kṣā́ś cit tatr̥dānā́

Indeed, O Heroes, Indra and Soma, you truly burst open the stable of cattle and horses, which was obstructed by stones. You two have released (the contents) by piercing through the barriers.
