अ॒हं मनु॑रभवं॒ सूर्य॑श्चा॒हं क॒क्षीवाँ॒ ऋषि॑रस्मि॒ विप्रः॑ | अ॒हं कुत्स॑मार्जुने॒यं न्यृ॑ञ्जे॒ऽहं क॒विरु॒शना॒ पश्य॑ता मा ||
ahám mánur abhavaṁ sū́ryaś cāháṁ kakṣī́vām̐ ŕ̥ṣir asmi vípraḥ aháṁ kútsam ārjuneyáṁ ny r̥̀ñje 'háṁ kavír uśánā páśyatā mā
I became Manu, I became Surya. I am the sage Kakshivan, the wise one. I have subdued Kutsa, son of Arjuna. I am the wise Ushanas, behold me!

In joyful exultation, I destroyed Shambara's ninety-nine forts and its hundredth dwelling. I helped Divodasa, the guest-feeder, completely.

O Maruts, let this bird be foremost among birds, and this swift-flying falcon supreme among falcons. For, with its own power, it brought the god-favored offering to Manu.
Addressing the Maruts, the speaker declares that this divine bird should be ranked first among all birds, and the swift-winged falcon supreme among falcons. The reason given is that this falcon, unburdened by any vehicle, brought the divinely approved offering to Manu.

The falcon, bearing the Soma stalk, brought the exhilarating Soma from afar. This divine bird, grasping it, brought the Soma from the highest heaven.
