Stanza 3.6.1

प्र का॑रवो मन॒ना व॒च्यमा॑ना देव॒द्रीचीं॑ नयत देव॒यन्तः॑ | द॒क्षि॒णा॒वाड्वा॒जिनी॒ प्राच्ये॑ति ह॒विर्भर॑न्त्य॒ग्नये॑ घृ॒ताची॑ ||

prá kāravo mananā́ vacyámānā devadrī́cīṁ nayata devayántaḥ dakṣiṇāvā́ḍ vājínī prā́cy eti havír bháranty agnáye ghr̥tā́cī

Come on, singers, filled with thought, bring forward that which approaches the gods! Moving rightward, then eastward, carrying the offering, it goes to Agni, rich with ghee.

Stanza 3.6.2

आ रोद॑सी अपृणा॒ जाय॑मान उ॒त प्र रि॑क्था॒ अध॒ नु प्र॑यज्यो | दि॒वश्चि॑दग्ने महि॒ना पृ॑थि॒व्या व॒च्यन्तां॑ ते॒ वह्न॑यः स॒प्तजि॑ह्वाः ||

ā́ ródasī apr̥ṇā jā́yamāna utá prá rikthā ádha nú prayajyo diváś cid agne mahinā́ pr̥thivyā́ vacyántāṁ te váhnayaḥ saptájihvāḥ

When you were born, Agni, you filled the two worlds, earth and sky, and even expanded beyond them! So now, by your immense power, let your seven-tongued flames move across the heavens and the earth.

Stanza 3.6.3

द्यौश्च॑ त्वा पृथि॒वी य॒ज्ञिया॑सो॒ नि होता॑रं सादयन्ते॒ दमा॑य | यदी॒ विशो॒ मानु॑षीर्देव॒यन्तीः॒ प्रय॑स्वती॒रीळ॑ते शु॒क्रम॒र्चिः ||

dyaúś ca tvā pr̥thivī́ yajñíyāso ní hótāraṁ sādayante dámāya yádī víśo mā́nuṣīr devayántīḥ práyasvatīr ī́ḷate śukrám arcíḥ

Heaven and Earth and the worshipful gods establish you as the priest for the home. Whenever devoted human communities, bringing their offerings, praise you, your bright light shines.

Stanza 3.6.4

म॒हान्त्स॒धस्थे॑ ध्रु॒व आ निष॑त्तो॒ऽन्तर्द्यावा॒ माहि॑ने॒ हर्य॑माणः | आस्क्रे॑ स॒पत्नी॑ अ॒जरे॒ अमृ॑क्ते सब॒र्दुघे॑ उरुगा॒यस्य॑ धे॒नू ||

mahā́n sadhásthe dhruvá ā́ níṣatto 'ntár dyā́vā mā́hine háryamāṇaḥ ā́skre sapátnī ajáre ámr̥kte sabardúghe urugāyásya dhenū́

You sit, the Great One, in a firm, cosmic seat, between the mighty heavens and earth, much desired. Like two never-aging, inviolable cows, full of nectar, belonging to the one who moves far, you are the source of all.

Stanza 3.6.5

व्र॒ता ते॑ अग्ने मह॒तो म॒हानि॒ तव॒ क्रत्वा॒ रोद॑सी॒ आ त॑तन्थ | त्वं दू॒तो अ॑भवो॒ जाय॑मान॒स्त्वं ने॒ता वृ॑षभ चर्षणी॒नाम् ||

vratā́ te agne maható mahā́ni táva krátvā ródasī ā́ tatantha tváṁ dūtó abhavo jā́yamānas tváṁ netā́ vr̥ṣabha carṣaṇīnā́m

Agni, your great principles are mighty. By your will, you spread out the earth and sky. From your very birth, you became a messenger and the leader of all people, O powerful one!

Stanza 3.6.6

ऋ॒तस्य॑ वा के॒शिना॑ यो॒ग्याभि॑र्घृत॒स्नुवा॒ रोहि॑ता धु॒रि धि॑ष्व | अथा व॑ह दे॒वान्दे॑व॒ विश्वा॑न्त्स्वध्व॒रा कृ॑णुहि जातवेदः ||

r̥tásya vā keśínā yogyā́bhir ghr̥tasnúvā róhitā dhurí dhiṣva áthā́ vaha devā́n deva víśvān svadhvarā́ kr̥ṇuhi jātavedaḥ

O Agni, harness your powerful, long-maned, ghee-filled horses with the cords of cosmic order to the pole! Then, O knower of all births, bring all the gods here and conduct the perfect worship.

Stanza 3.6.7

दि॒वश्चि॒दा ते॑ रुचयन्त रो॒का उ॒षो वि॑भा॒तीरनु॑ भासि पू॒र्वीः | अ॒पो यद॑ग्न उ॒शध॒ग्वने॑षु॒ होतु॑र्म॒न्द्रस्य॑ प॒नय॑न्त दे॒वाः ||

diváś cid ā́ te rucayanta rokā́ uṣó vibhātī́r ánu bhāsi pūrvī́ḥ apó yád agna uśádhag váneṣu hótur mandrásya panáyanta devā́ḥ

Your brilliant lights shine even from the sky, O Agni! You gleam, following the dawns. When you eagerly burn in the forests, O Agni, may the gods praise the joyful work of the Hotar (priest) within you.

Stanza 3.6.8

उ॒रौ वा॒ ये अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे॒ मद॑न्ति दि॒वो वा॒ ये रो॑च॒ने सन्ति॑ दे॒वाः | ऊमा॑ वा॒ ये सु॒हवा॑सो॒ यज॑त्रा आयेमि॒रे र॒थ्यो॑ अग्ने॒ अश्वाः॑ ||

uraú vā yé antárikṣe mádanti divó vā yé rocané sánti devā́ḥ ū́mā vā yé suhávāso yájatrā āyemiré rathyò agne áśvāḥ

Whether it's the gods who delight in the wide atmosphere, or those who exist in the shining sky, or the gods who are helpful and worshipful, O Agni, have your chariot-horses, born from you, arrived?

Stanza 3.6.9

ऐभि॑रग्ने स॒रथं॑ याह्य॒र्वाङ्ना॑नार॒थं वा॑ वि॒भवो॒ ह्यश्वाः॑ | पत्नी॑वतस्त्रिं॒शतं॒ त्रीँश्च॑ दे॒वान॑नुष्व॒धमा व॑ह मा॒दय॑स्व ||

aíbhir agne saráthaṁ yāhy arvā́ṅ nānāratháṁ vā vibhávo hy áśvāḥ pátnīvatas triṁśátaṁ trī́ṁś ca devā́n anuṣvadhám ā́ vaha mādáyasva

Agni, come with them on one chariot or many, for your horses are powerful! Bring the thirty-three gods with their wives, according to your nature, and enjoy the offerings with us.

Stanza 3.6.10

स होता॒ यस्य॒ रोद॑सी चिदु॒र्वी य॒ज्ञंय॑ज्ञम॒भि वृ॒धे गृ॑णी॒तः | प्राची॑ अध्व॒रेव॑ तस्थतुः सु॒मेके॑ ऋ॒ताव॑री ऋ॒तजा॑तस्य स॒त्ये ||

sá hótā yásya ródasī cid urvī́ yajñáṁ yajñam abhí vr̥dhé gr̥ṇītáḥ prā́cī adhvaréva tasthatuḥ suméke r̥tā́varī r̥tájātasya satyé

He is the Hotar (priest) whose sacrifice causes the wide Earth and Sky to sing praises for prosperity. Facing east, the well-established, righteous ones stand firm at the sacrifice of the one born of truth.

Stanza 3.6.11

इळा॑मग्ने पुरु॒दंसं॑ स॒निं गोः श॑श्वत्त॒मं हव॑मानाय साध | स्यान्नः॑ सू॒नुस्तन॑यो वि॒जावाग्ने॒ सा ते॑ सुम॒तिर्भू॑त्व॒स्मे ||

íḷām agne purudáṁsaṁ saníṁ góḥ śaśvattamáṁ hávamānāya sādha syā́n naḥ sūnús tánayo vijā́vā́gne sā́ te sumatír bhūtv asmé

Agni, grant us Ila, the potent sustainer of cows, the most abundant one, to the one who calls you. May we have a son and descendant born to us! Agni, may this kindness of yours be with us.
