Stanza 3.40.1

इन्द्र॑ त्वा वृष॒भं व॒यं सु॒ते सोमे॑ हवामहे | स पा॑हि॒ मध्वो॒ अन्ध॑सः ||

índra tvā vr̥ṣabháṁ vayáṁ suté sóme havāmahe sá pāhi mádhvo ándhasaḥ

Indra, our strong bull, we call to you as we prepare this Soma juice. Please come and drink this delightful offering!

Stanza 3.40.2

इन्द्र॑ क्रतु॒विदं॑ सु॒तं सोमं॑ हर्य पुरुष्टुत | पिबा वृ॑षस्व॒ तातृ॑पिम् ||

índra kratuvídaṁ sutáṁ sómaṁ harya puruṣṭuta píbā́ vr̥ṣasva tā́tr̥pim

Indra, praised by many, accept this potent Soma juice! Drink it up and be fully satisfied, O' mighty one!

Stanza 3.40.3

इन्द्र॒ प्र णो॑ धि॒तावा॑नं य॒ज्ञं विश्वे॑भिर्दे॒वेभिः॑ | ति॒र स्त॑वान विश्पते ||

índra prá ṇo dhitā́vānaṁ yajñáṁ víśvebhir devébhiḥ tirá stavāna viśpate

Indra, lord of men, please bless our wealth-bringing sacrifice along with all the other gods. We praise you!

Stanza 3.40.4

इन्द्र॒ सोमाः॑ सु॒ता इ॒मे तव॒ प्र य॑न्ति सत्पते | क्षयं॑ च॒न्द्रास॒ इन्द॑वः ||

índra sómāḥ sutā́ imé táva prá yanti satpate kṣáyaṁ candrā́sa índavaḥ

Indra, master of heroes, here are these pressed Soma drops, bright and pleasing! They are for you and move towards your home.

Stanza 3.40.5

द॒धि॒ष्वा ज॒ठरे॑ सु॒तं सोम॑मिन्द्र॒ वरे॑ण्यम् | तव॑ द्यु॒क्षास॒ इन्द॑वः ||

dadhiṣvā́ jaṭháre sutáṁ sómam indra váreṇyam táva dyukṣā́sa índavaḥ

Indra, accept this excellent pressed Soma into your belly! These brilliant drops are yours.

Stanza 3.40.6

गिर्व॑णः पा॒हि नः॑ सु॒तं मधो॒र्धारा॑भिरज्यसे | इन्द्र॒ त्वादा॑त॒मिद्यशः॑ ||

gírvaṇaḥ pāhí naḥ sutám mádhor dhā́rābhir ajyase índra tvā́dātam íd yáśaḥ

Indra, Lord of hymns, please drink our pressed Soma! You are bathed in streams of this sweet drink, and our glory is from you.

Stanza 3.40.7

अ॒भि द्यु॒म्नानि॑ व॒निन॒ इन्द्रं॑ सचन्ते॒ अक्षि॑ता | पी॒त्वी सोम॑स्य वावृधे ||

abhí dyumnā́ni vanína índraṁ sacante ákṣitā pītvī́ sómasya vāvr̥dhe

The worshipper's treasures flow to Indra. After drinking the Soma, he grows stronger, and these never-failing riches are his.

Stanza 3.40.8

अ॒र्वा॒वतो॑ न॒ आ ग॑हि परा॒वत॑श्च वृत्रहन् | इ॒मा जु॑षस्व नो॒ गिरः॑ ||

arvāváto na ā́ gahi parāvátaś ca vr̥trahan imā́ juṣasva no gíraḥ

O' slayer of Vritra, come to us from near and far! Please accept these praises we offer you.

Stanza 3.40.9

यद॑न्त॒रा प॑रा॒वत॑मर्वा॒वतं॑ च हू॒यसे॑ | इन्द्रे॒ह तत॒ आ ग॑हि ||

yád antarā́ parāvátam arvāvátaṁ ca hūyáse índrehá táta ā́ gahi

When you are called, Indra, from both near and far, from the space in between, come to us right from there!
