Stanza 3.28.1
अग्ने॑ जु॒षस्व॑ नो ह॒विः पु॑रो॒ळाशं॑ जातवेदः | प्रा॒तः॒सा॒वे धि॑यावसो ||
ágne juṣásva no havíḥ puroḷā́śaṁ jātavedaḥ prātaḥsāvé dhiyāvaso
O Agni, knower of all beings, and rich in wisdom, please favor our offering, this cake, at the morning ritual!
In this opening verse of the hymn, the devotee addresses the fire god Agni, acknowledging his multifaceted nature as "Jātavedas" (knower of all born things) and "Dhiyāvasu" (rich in wisdom/offerings). They are offering him a special cake at the early morning ritual, and earnestly ask Agni to accept and favor their offering, seeking his divine presence and acceptance.

O Agni, the sacrificial cake, O ever-youthful one, has been prepared for you. Please accept it!
The devotee continues to address Agni, specifically praising him as "Yavishthya" (the youngest, ever-youthful). They state that the sacrificial cake has been prepared and properly arranged just for him. The plea is to accept this prepared offering, reinforcing the special dedication of the ritual food to Agni.

Stanza 3.28.3
अग्ने॑ वी॒हि पु॑रो॒ळाश॒माहु॑तं ति॒रोअ॑ह्न्यम् | सह॑सः सू॒नुर॑स्यध्व॒रे हि॒तः ||
ágne vīhí puroḷā́śam ā́hutaṁ tiróahnyam sáhasaḥ sūnúr asy adhvaré hitáḥ
O Agni, Son of Strength, come and accept this cake and the offering that has been kept overnight. You are indeed established in our sacrifice!
The hymn continues with a direct address to Agni, calling him the "Son of Strength" (Sahasah Sunuh). The devotee asks Agni to "come" and accept not only the cake but also an offering that has been kept overnight ("Tiroahnyam"). Agni is affirmed as being "placed" or established within the sacrifice itself, emphasizing his central role.

mā́dhyaṁdine sávane jātavedaḥ puroḷā́śam ihá kave juṣasva ágne yahvásya táva bhāgadhéyaṁ ná prá minanti vidátheṣu dhī́rāḥ
O Agni, wise poet, Knower of all, at the midday ritual, accept this sacrificial cake here! The wise ones in gatherings never diminish your rightful portion, O mighty one.
This verse shifts focus to the midday ritual ("Mādhyamdine Savane"). The devotee again calls upon Agni, addressing him as "Kavi" (wise poet) and "Jātavedas". They request Agni to accept the cake offered here and now. The verse concludes by stating that wise people ("Dhīrāh") never diminish the portion rightfully belonging to Agni, the mighty one, during sacred distributions in assemblies.

This verse invokes Agni for the third ritual time ("Tṛtīye Savane"). The devotee asks Agni, the "Son of Strength," to joyfully accept the offered cake. The verse then describes Agni's role in carrying the sacrifice, described as "wealthy" and "wakeful," to the immortal gods through his skillful praise and performance ("Vipanyayā").

The final verse of this section again calls upon Agni, describing him as "Vr̥dhānaḥ" (growing, waxing strong). The devotee asks Agni, the "Jātavedas," to accept the offering, the cake, and also the offering that was prepared the previous day ("Tiroahnyam"), indicating continuity and sustained devotion.
