This is that Agni, the very one within whom Indra, with great desire, placed the pressed Soma. You are praised, O Agni, who knows all births, for conquering immense wealth, just like a swift horse winning a race!
This hymn is about Agni, the fire god, and his role in the cosmic order. It describes how Indra, the king of the gods, consumes the Soma, a sacred drink, within Agni's body. Agni is praised for his power and ability to win wealth, like a fast horse. The verse highlights Agni's central position and his connection to divine power.

O Agni, you move towards the sky's expanse! You've summoned the divine beings. We invoke the waters that exist above in the sun's bright realm, and those that approach from below.
This verse addresses Agni, asking him to move towards the celestial 'sea' or expanse of the sky. It speaks of him calling to the gods and then mentions the waters, both those above in the sun's domain and those below, suggesting Agni's connection to all aspects of the cosmos, from the heavens to the earthly realm.
