I choose Agni, the priest who offers the sacrifice, for this ritual. He's the wise one, knowing everything, and never falters. May he, the best worshipper, perform the ritual for us among the gods, and may he gain riches and strength for us.
The seer is calling upon the god Agni, the primary priest (Hotar) of the sacrifice, describing him as wise, all-knowing, and unfailing. The goal is to have Agni, who is exceptionally skilled in worship, perform the rituals for them, thereby securing great wealth and strength from the gods.
