Stanza 2.8.1
वा॒ज॒यन्नि॑व॒ नू रथा॒न्योगाँ॑ अ॒ग्नेरुप॑ स्तुहि | य॒शस्त॑मस्य मी॒ळ्हुषः॑ ||
vājayánn iva nū́ ráthān yógām̐ agnér úpa stuhi yaśástamasya mīḷhúṣaḥ
Come on, let's praise Agni's chariot, just like someone gets their chariots ready for a race! Let's praise the harnessing of the most glorious and generous Agni.
This verse is an invocation, urging us to praise the chariot of Agni, the god of fire. It likens the act of praising to preparing a chariot for a race, emphasizing Agni's generous and splendid nature. We are encouraged to worship him, recognizing his power and magnificence.

यः सु॑नी॒थो द॑दा॒शुषे॑ऽजु॒र्यो ज॒रय॑न्न॒रिम् | चारु॑प्रतीक॒ आहु॑तः ||
yáḥ sunīthó dadāśúṣe 'juryó jaráyann arím cā́rupratīka ā́hutaḥ
He is the best guide for those who offer sacrifices to him. He is ever-vigilant and wears down enemies without getting old himself. He is beautifully radiant and honored when invoked.
This verse describes Agni as an excellent guide for those who worship him. He is timeless and effectively diminishes his enemies. Agni is also praised for his beautiful appearance and for being welcomed with offerings.

May we, protected by Agni, Indra, Soma, and all the gods, remain unharmed and stand together. May we overcome those who attack us.
This is a prayer for protection and success. The speaker wishes to remain unharmed and to be able to associate with the divine forces of Agni, Indra, Soma, and all the gods. They also pray for the strength to overcome their enemies.
