ग॒णानां॑ त्वा ग॒णप॑तिं हवामहे क॒विं क॑वी॒नामु॑प॒मश्र॑वस्तमम् | ज्ये॒ष्ठ॒राजं॒ ब्रह्म॑णां ब्रह्मणस्पत॒ आ नः॑ शृ॒ण्वन्नू॒तिभिः॑ सीद॒ साद॑नम् ||
gaṇā́nāṁ tvā gaṇápatiṁ havāmahe kavíṁ kavīnā́m upamáśravastamam jyeṣṭharā́jam bráhmaṇām brahmaṇas pata ā́ naḥ śr̥ṇvánn ūtíbhiḥ sīda sā́danam
We call you, leader of the divine assemblies, wisest of the wise, most renowned! O Brahmanaspati, supreme king of prayers, hear us with your help and come to our sacred seat.

O wise and divine Brahmanaspati, the gods have received their share from you. Like the sun with its brilliant light, you are the origin of all prayers.

With your help, O Brahmanaspati, may we receive desirable wealth and prosperity. O you who foster us, crush our enemies who are near and far.

Whoever acts with an ungodly mind and wants to harm, or acts with pride and intent to kill, O Brahmanaspati, let their destructive blow not reach us. May we quell the wrath of the powerful evil-doer.
