प्र दे॑व॒त्रा ब्रह्म॑णे गा॒तुरे॑त्व॒पो अच्छा॒ मन॑सो॒ न प्रयु॑क्ति | म॒हीं मि॒त्रस्य॒ वरु॑णस्य धा॒सिं पृ॑थु॒ज्रय॑से रीरधा सुवृ॒क्तिम् ||

May the performer of rites approach the divine waters with the sacred offering. May I prepare the great sustenance of Mitra and Varuṇa, which is vast, for him who spreads praise.

ádhvaryavo havíṣmanto hí bhūtā́chāpá itośatī́r uśantaḥ áva yā́ś cáṣṭe aruṇáḥ suparṇás tám ā́syadhvam ūrmím adyā́ suhastāḥ
O Adhvaryus, you who are endowed with offerings, come to the waters that are desired. The purple eagle observes them. O skilled ones, pour forth the flowing wave of the waters today.

O Adhvaryus, go to the ocean and worship the Son of the Waters with your offerings. He will give you a purified wave today. Therefore, press the sweet Soma for him.
The Adhvaryus are instructed to go towards the ocean (samudram) and worship the 'Son of the Waters' (apām napātam) with their offerings (havisha). This divine being will then give them a consecrated wave (supūtam ūrmim) today. In response, they are told to press the Soma juice (somam madhumantam) for him.

Give us, O Child of the Waters, those sweet waters which shine within the waters, unfed by fuel, whom the wise worship in sacrifices, and by which Indra grew in strength.

Those waters, with which Soma rejoices like a young man with beautiful maidens, go towards them, O Adhvaryu, and purify with herbs what you infuse.

Thus the young women bowed to the youth when he came desiring them. Similarly, the Adhvaryus and the divine waters, united in mind and understanding, are in accord.
The stanza describes how young women (yuvatayaḥ) bow to a youthful man (yūne yuvan) who approaches them with desire (uśan). Similarly, the Adhvaryus and the divine waters (āpaḥ) are in harmony (saṃ jānate, saṃ cikitre) in mind and intention, understanding each other.

Send forth, O Rivers, that intoxicating wave which Indra drinks, which moves both worlds, which is sweet, desired, born of the sky, and flows as a triple stream.
The rivers are asked to send forth (heta) a thrilling, intoxicating wave (matsaram), a stream that Indra drinks (indrapānam ūrmim). This wave is said to set both realms (ubhe) in motion, to be sweet with intoxication (madacyutam), desired (auśānam), born from the sky (nabhojām), and to flow in a triple form (tritantum vicarantam utsam).
