    Stanza 10.21.1

    आग्निं न स्ववृ॑क्तिभि॒र्होता॑रं त्वा वृणीमहे | य॒ज्ञाय॑ स्ती॒र्णब॑र्हिषे॒ वि वो॒ मदे॑ शी॒रं पा॑व॒कशो॑चिषं॒ विव॑क्षसे ||

    ā́gníṁ ná svávr̥ktibhir hótāraṁ tvā vr̥ṇīmahe yajñā́ya stīrṇábarhiṣe ví vo máde śīrám pāvakáśociṣaṁ vívakṣase

    O Agni, we choose you as the invoking priest with our own offerings for the sacrifice, which has its altar prepared with sacred grass. We are delighted by your radiant and powerful presence.

    Stanza 10.21.2

    त्वामु॒ ते स्वा॒भुवः॑ शु॒म्भन्त्यश्व॑राधसः | वेति॒ त्वामु॑प॒सेच॑नी॒ वि वो॒ मद॒ ऋजी॑तिरग्न॒ आहु॑ति॒र्विव॑क्षसे ||

    tvā́m u té svābhúvaḥ śumbhánty áśvarādhasaḥ véti tvā́m upasécanī ví vo máda ŕ̥jītir agna ā́hutir vívakṣase

    Those who are wealthy and bring horses as gifts adorn you, Agni. You are like the pouring ladle in the ritual; we perceive you in the joyful atmosphere of the sacrifice.

    Stanza 10.21.3

    त्वे ध॒र्माण॑ आसते जु॒हूभिः॑ सिञ्च॒तीरि॑व | कृ॒ष्णा रू॒पाण्यर्जु॑ना॒ वि वो॒ मदे॒ विश्वा॒ अधि॒ श्रियो॑ धिषे॒ विव॑क्षसे ||

    tvé dharmā́ṇa āsate juhū́bhiḥ siñcatī́r iva kr̥ṣṇā́ rūpā́ṇy árjunā ví vo máde víśvā ádhi śríyo dhiṣe vívakṣase

    The divine ordinances reside with you, Agni, as if pouring forth with ladles. You hold both dark and bright forms, and you possess all glories.

    Stanza 10.21.4

    यम॑ग्ने॒ मन्य॑से र॒यिं सह॑सावन्नमर्त्य | तमा नो॒ वाज॑सातये॒ वि वो॒ मदे॑ य॒ज्ञेषु॑ चि॒त्रमा भ॑रा॒ विव॑क्षसे ||

    yám agne mányase rayíṁ sáhasāvann amartya tám ā́ no vā́jasātaye ví vo máde yajñéṣu citrám ā́ bharā vívakṣase

    O Agni, powerful and immortal, when you consider wealth, bring that wealth to us for our success in the sacrifice. Your brilliance is ever-present in our rituals.

    Stanza 10.21.5

    अ॒ग्निर्जा॒तो अथ॑र्वणा वि॒दद्विश्वा॑नि॒ काव्या॑ | भुव॑द्दू॒तो वि॒वस्व॑तो॒ वि वो॒ मदे॑ प्रि॒यो य॒मस्य॒ काम्यो॒ विव॑क्षसे ||

    agnír jātó átharvaṇā vidád víśvāni kā́vyā bhúvad dūtó vivásvato ví vo máde priyó yamásya kā́myo vívakṣase

    Agni, born through Atharvan, knows all divine skills. He became the messenger of Vivasvan and is dear and desirable to Yama.

    Stanza 10.21.6

    त्वां य॒ज्ञेष्वी॑ळ॒तेऽग्ने॑ प्रय॒त्य॑ध्व॒रे | त्वं वसू॑नि॒ काम्या॒ वि वो॒ मदे॒ विश्वा॑ दधासि दा॒शुषे॒ विव॑क्षसे ||

    tvā́ṁ yajñéṣv īḷaté 'gne prayaty àdhvaré tváṁ vásūni kā́myā ví vo máde víśvā dadhāsi dāśúṣe vívakṣase

    O Agni, you are adored in sacrifices by the priests. You are present in the ritual and bestow all desirable treasures upon the one who offers.

    Stanza 10.21.7

    त्वां य॒ज्ञेष्वृ॒त्विजं॒ चारु॑मग्ने॒ नि षे॑दिरे | घृ॒तप्र॑तीकं॒ मनु॑षो॒ वि वो॒ मदे॑ शु॒क्रं चेति॑ष्ठम॒क्षभि॒र्विव॑क्षसे ||

    tvā́ṁ yajñéṣv r̥tvíjaṁ cā́rum agne ní ṣedire ghr̥tápratīkam mánuṣo ví vo máde śukráṁ cétiṣṭham akṣábhir vívakṣase

    O Agni, you are seated as the beautiful officiating priest in the sacrifices. Your face is bright with ghee, and with your sharpest eyes, you observe us.

    Stanza 10.21.8

    अग्ने॑ शु॒क्रेण॑ शो॒चिषो॒रु प्र॑थयसे बृ॒हत् | अ॒भि॒क्रन्द॑न्वृषायसे॒ वि वो॒ मदे॒ गर्भं॑ दधासि जा॒मिषु॒ विव॑क्षसे ||

    ágne śukréṇa śocíṣorú prathayase br̥hát abhikrándan vr̥ṣāyase ví vo máde gárbhaṁ dadhāsi jāmíṣu vívakṣase

    O Agni, you spread your brilliant flame wide and large. Roaring like a bull, you impregnate the female energies within the sacrifice.
