Inspired, I have made my portion, and as the first patron, I have composed this hymn. When I came to the flowing Soma juice, O Vishvamitra and Jamadagni, I sought it in your home.
The speaker, feeling inspired and having received their portion, declares that as the first patron (or perhaps referring to Indra as the primary recipient), they have composed this hymn. They explain that this hymn was created when they came to the flowing Soma juice, seeking it in the home of the sages Vishvamitra and Jamadagni, implying a connection between the hymn, the Soma, and the divine.
