Stanza 10.156.1
अ॒ग्निं हि॑न्वन्तु नो॒ धियः॒ सप्ति॑मा॒शुमि॑वा॒जिषु॑ | तेन॑ जेष्म॒ धनं॑धनम् ||
agníṁ hinvantu no dhíyaḥ sáptim āśúm ivājíṣu téna jeṣma dhánaṁ dhanam
May our songs drive Agni forward, like a swift steed in races. With him, may we conquer every prize and wealth.
The hymn addresses the deity Agni, urging him to be swift and powerful like a fast horse in a race. The poet asks Agni to propel their thoughts and hymns towards him, assuring that through Agni's strength, they will be victorious and win all prizes and wealth.

yáyā gā́ ākárāmahe sénayāgne távotyā́ tā́ṁ no hinva magháttaye
Agni, by your power and protection, may we acquire cows. Drive that wealth towards us for our prosperity.
The poet invokes Agni, asking for his support and divine help. They request Agni to drive towards them the wealth (cows) they have obtained through Agni's power and army-like might. This wealth is sought for sustenance and prosperity.

ā́gne sthūráṁ rayím bhara pr̥thúṁ gómantam aśvínam aṅdhí kháṁ vartáyā paṇím
O Agni, bring us solid wealth, vast riches with cows and horses. Smoothly manage our affairs, drive our prosperity.
The poet calls upon Agni to bring abundant wealth. This wealth is described as substantial ('sthūram'), vast ('pruthum'), rich in cows ('gomantam'), and horses ('ashvinam'). The latter part of the verse uses metaphors: 'oil the socket' and 'turn the wheel', likely referring to smoothly facilitating or driving prosperity and progress.

ágne nákṣatram ajáram ā́ sū́ryaṁ rohayo diví dádhaj jyótir jánebhyaḥ
O Agni, you placed the eternal star, the Sun, in the sky, providing light for people.
This stanza praises Agni as the force that establishes the sun in the sky. Agni is depicted as placing the sun, which is an 'eternal star' ('ajaram nakshatram') and also the sun itself ('suryam'), in the heavens. By doing this, Agni provides light for all people.

ágne ketúr viśā́m asi préṣṭhaḥ śréṣṭha upasthasát bódhā stotré váyo dádhat
Agni, you are the foremost and best banner for the people, residing in your place. Be aware of the praise, and give us strength/life.
Agni is identified as the foremost and best 'banner' or 'signal' ('ketuh') for the people ('vishām'). He resides in the sacred space ('upasathasat'). The poet requests Agni to be aware of and respond to their hymns of praise ('stotre'), and to bestow strength or life ('vayah') upon them.
