I place my trust in your first furious action, O Indra, when you slew Vritra and released the waters for mankind. At that time, the two worlds (heaven and earth) could not contain your power, and the earth itself trembled at your might, O wielder of the thunderbolt.
This verse describes Indra's powerful actions, particularly his defeat of Vritra, which brought forth waters. The immensity of his strength is so great that even the earth and the two celestial realms (sky and earth) are affected, trembling at his might.
