Stanza 10.135.1
यस्मि॑न्वृ॒क्षे सु॑पला॒शे दे॒वैः स॒म्पिब॑ते य॒मः | अत्रा॑ नो वि॒श्पतिः॑ पि॒ता पु॑रा॒णाँ अनु॑ वेनति ||
yásmin vr̥kṣé supalāśé devaíḥ sampíbate yamáḥ átrā no viśpátiḥ pitā́ purāṇā́m̐ ánu venati
In the tree, rich with leaves, where Yama drinks with the gods, there our Father, the Lord of the home, lovingly regards the ancient ones.
This stanza describes a sacred tree adorned with beautiful leaves, a place where Yama, the god of the underworld, communes with other deities. It suggests a connection between this divine gathering and a paternal figure or ancestral spirit who lovingly tends to the ancient departed souls.

purāṇā́m̐ anuvénantaṁ cárantam pāpáyāmuyā́ asūyánn abhy àcākaśaṁ tásmā aspr̥hayam púnaḥ
Observing him who follows the ancient ones and walks that evil path with dislike, I looked upon him and again yearned for that.
The speaker reflects on a past reluctance to observe someone or something that followed the ancient ones and walked an evil path. This observation led to a yearning for something else, possibly a different way or destiny.

yáṁ kumāra návaṁ rátham acakrám mánasā́kr̥ṇoḥ ékeṣaṁ viśvátaḥ prā́ñcam ápaśyann ádhi tiṣṭhasi
O Child, which new, wheel-less chariot have you made with your mind? You stand upon the one-poled one, which moves in all directions, though you do not see it.
The speaker addresses a 'Child' (Kumara), questioning who created a new, wheel-less chariot. This chariot, though seemingly simple and one-poled, is capable of moving in all directions. The speaker asks who is now mounting this unique vehicle, even without fully seeing it.

O Child, the chariot you set in motion for the sages, that Sama followed. It was then placed together on the ship.
The speaker asks the 'Child' about the chariot that was set in motion and directed towards the sages. This chariot, it is said, was followed by the Sama Veda melody, and was then placed together on a ship.

When the funeral offering was made, the point of flame arose from it. A depth was spread out in front; a passage out was made behind.
This verse describes the consequence of the funeral offering. It states that from that offering, the 'point of flame' emerged. A depth was formed in the front, and a means of exit or release was created at the back.
