jātávedase sunavāma sómam arātīyató ní dahāti védaḥ sá naḥ parṣad áti durgā́ṇi víśvā nāvéva síndhuṁ duritā́ty agníḥ
Let's offer the Soma juice to Jātavedas, the one who knows all beings! May he burn away the harm caused by those who dislike us. May Agni, like a boat crossing a river, carry us safely through all tough situations and dangers.
This verse is a heartfelt plea to Agni, who is addressed as "Jātavedas" (knower of all births). The speaker expresses a desire to offer the sacred Soma drink to Agni, hoping that Agni will then protect them from ill-wishers and their negative influence. The core of the stanza is a prayer for safe passage through all difficulties, comparing the journey to crossing a river in a boat, with Agni as the divine guide and protector.
