Who among you truly understands this hidden one? The young one has given birth to its mothers. The great, wise being emerges from the waters, sustained by its own power.
This verse poses a question: who among you truly understands this hidden divine being? It then states that this 'calf' (a metaphor for the divine) has given birth to its 'mothers' (perhaps signifying the sources of its power or existence). This great, wise being emerges from the 'lap of the waters,' sustained by its own inherent power.
