Stanza 1.75.1

जु॒षस्व॑ स॒प्रथ॑स्तमं॒ वचो॑ दे॒वप्स॑रस्तमम् | ह॒व्या जुह्वा॑न आ॒सनि॑ ||

juṣásva sapráthastamaṁ váco devápsarastamam havyā́ júhvāna āsáni

Please accept, Agni, our most powerful words, which are the most delightful to the gods. We offer these sacred gifts with our mouths, calling out to you.

Stanza 1.75.2

अथा॑ ते अङ्गिरस्त॒माग्ने॑ वेधस्तम प्रि॒यम् | वो॒चेम॒ ब्रह्म॑ सान॒सि ||

áthā te aṅgirastamā́gne vedhastama priyám vocéma bráhma sānasí

Now, Agni, we want to offer you a precious prayer. You are the wisest of the Angiras, the best worshipper, and we want to speak words that are pleasing and successful.

Stanza 1.75.3

कस्ते॑ जा॒मिर्जना॑ना॒मग्ने॒ को दा॒श्व॑ध्वरः | को ह॒ कस्मि॑न्नसि श्रि॒तः ||

kás te jāmír jánānām ágne kó dāśvàdhvaraḥ kó ha kásminn asi śritáḥ

Agni, who is your relative among people? Who offers you worthy worship? Where do you find support and who are you connected to?

Stanza 1.75.4

त्वं जा॒मिर्जना॑ना॒मग्ने॑ मि॒त्रो अ॑सि प्रि॒यः | सखा॒ सखि॑भ्य॒ ईड्यः॑ ||

tváṁ jāmír jánānām ágne mitró asi priyáḥ sákhā sákhibhya ī́ḍyaḥ

You, Agni, are the relative of mankind, our dear friend ('Mitra'). You are a companion who deserves to be honored by all your friends.

Stanza 1.75.5

यजा॑ नो मि॒त्रावरु॑णा॒ यजा॑ दे॒वाँ ऋ॒तं बृ॒हत् | अग्ने॒ यक्षि॒ स्वं दम॑म् ||

yájā no mitrā́váruṇā yájā devā́m̐ r̥tám br̥hát ágne yákṣi sváṁ dámam

Agni, please help us worship Mitra and Varuṇa, and the gods, bringing them into the great order. Perform our sacrifice in your own home.
