जु॒षस्व॑ स॒प्रथ॑स्तमं॒ वचो॑ दे॒वप्स॑रस्तमम् | ह॒व्या जुह्वा॑न आ॒सनि॑ ||
juṣásva sapráthastamaṁ váco devápsarastamam havyā́ júhvāna āsáni
Please accept, Agni, our most powerful words, which are the most delightful to the gods. We offer these sacred gifts with our mouths, calling out to you.

Now, Agni, we want to offer you a precious prayer. You are the wisest of the Angiras, the best worshipper, and we want to speak words that are pleasing and successful.

त्वं जा॒मिर्जना॑ना॒मग्ने॑ मि॒त्रो अ॑सि प्रि॒यः | सखा॒ सखि॑भ्य॒ ईड्यः॑ ||
tváṁ jāmír jánānām ágne mitró asi priyáḥ sákhā sákhibhya ī́ḍyaḥ
You, Agni, are the relative of mankind, our dear friend ('Mitra'). You are a companion who deserves to be honored by all your friends.
This verse directly answers the questions from the previous stanza, declaring Agni to be the kinsman and beloved friend ('Mitra') of humanity. He is a companion worthy of praise and adoration from all his friends.

Agni, please help us worship Mitra and Varuṇa, and the gods, bringing them into the great order. Perform our sacrifice in your own home.
