Stanza 1.6.1

यु॒ञ्जन्ति॑ ब्र॒ध्नम॑रु॒षं चर॑न्तं॒ परि॑ त॒स्थुषः॑ | रोच॑न्ते रोच॒ना दि॒वि ||

yuñjánti bradhnám aruṣáṁ cárantam pári tasthúṣaḥ rócante rocanā́ diví

They harness the bright, reddish steed that's on the move, as those standing by get ready. And look, the lights in the sky are starting to shine!

Stanza 1.6.2

यु॒ञ्जन्त्य॑स्य॒ काम्या॒ हरी॒ विप॑क्षसा॒ रथे॑ | शोणा॑ धृ॒ष्णू नृ॒वाह॑सा ||

yuñjánty asya kā́myā hárī vípakṣasā ráthe śóṇā dhr̥ṣṇū́ nr̥vā́hasā

They're harnessing his two favorite horses to the chariot on each side—the brown, bold ones that can carry a hero.

Stanza 1.6.3

के॒तुं कृ॒ण्वन्न॑के॒तवे॒ पेशो॑ मर्या अपे॒शसे॑ | समु॒षद्भि॑रजायथाः ||

ketúṁ kr̥ṇvánn aketáve péśo maryā apeśáse sám uṣádbhir ajāyathāḥ

You, O divine one, create light where there was no light, and form where there was no form. You were born along with the dawns!

Stanza 1.6.4

आदह॑ स्व॒धामनु॒ पुन॑र्गर्भ॒त्वमे॑रि॒रे | दधा॑ना॒ नाम॑ य॒ज्ञिय॑म् ||

ā́d áha svadhā́m ánu púnar garbhatvám eriré dádhānā nā́ma yajñíyam

Afterward, they naturally took on their form again, like newborns, adopting their sacred name and purpose.

Stanza 1.6.5

वी॒ळु चि॑दारुज॒त्नुभि॒र्गुहा॑ चिदिन्द्र॒ वह्नि॑भिः | अवि॑न्द उ॒स्रिया॒ अनु॑ ||

vīḷú cid ārujatnúbhir gúhā cid indra váhnibhiḥ ávinda usríyā ánu

Indra, with the Maruts who break down even strongholds, you found the hidden bright ones, even within secret places!

Stanza 1.6.6

दे॒व॒यन्तो॒ यथा॑ म॒तिमच्छा॑ वि॒दद्व॑सुं॒ गिरः॑ | म॒हाम॑नूषत श्रु॒तम् ||

devayánto yáthā matím áchā vidádvasuṁ gíraḥ mahā́m anūṣata śrutám

The devoted singers, in their own way, have praised the renowned, great Indra, the giver of wealth, with their songs.

Stanza 1.6.7

इन्द्रे॑ण॒ सं हि दृक्ष॑से संजग्मा॒नो अबि॑भ्युषा | म॒न्दू स॑मा॒नव॑र्चसा ||

índreṇa sáṁ hí dŕ̥kṣase saṁjagmānó ábibhyuṣā mandū́ samānávarcasā

May you be seen coming together with the fearless Indra! You both bring joy and shine with equal splendor.

Stanza 1.6.8

अ॒न॒व॒द्यैर॒भिद्यु॑भिर्म॒खः सह॑स्वदर्चति | ग॒णैरिन्द्र॑स्य॒ काम्यैः॑ ||

anavadyaír abhídyubhir makháḥ sáhasvad arcati gaṇaír índrasya kā́myaiḥ

With Indra's beloved, blameless, and heaven-going hosts, the sacrificer loudly praises the powerful one.

Stanza 1.6.9

अतः॑ परिज्म॒न्ना ग॑हि दि॒वो वा॑ रोच॒नादधि॑ | सम॑स्मिन्नृञ्जते॒ गिरः॑ ||

átaḥ parijmann ā́ gahi divó vā rocanā́d ádhi sám asminn r̥ñjate gíraḥ

Come here, O traveler, from this place, or from the lights of the sky above! All our songs are yearning for you.

Stanza 1.6.10

इ॒तो वा॑ सा॒तिमीम॑हे दि॒वो वा॒ पार्थि॑वा॒दधि॑ | इन्द्रं॑ म॒हो वा॒ रज॑सः ||

itó vā sātím ī́mahe divó vā pā́rthivād ádhi índram mahó vā rájasaḥ

We ask Indra for help from here, or from the sky, or from above the earth, or from the great expanse of the heavens.
