Stanza 1.57.1

प्र मंहि॑ष्ठाय बृह॒ते बृ॒हद्र॑ये स॒त्यशु॑ष्माय त॒वसे॑ म॒तिं भ॑रे | अ॒पामि॑व प्रव॒णे यस्य॑ दु॒र्धरं॒ राधो॑ वि॒श्वायु॒ शव॑से॒ अपा॑वृतम् ||

prá máṁhiṣṭhāya br̥haté br̥hádraye satyáśuṣmāya taváse matím bhare apā́m iva pravaṇé yásya durdháraṁ rā́dho viśvā́yu śávase ápāvr̥tam

I offer my thoughts and praise to the greatest and most magnificent Indra, the one with immense strength and abundant wealth. His generosity, like a gushing stream, is open and available to all creatures for their strength and well-being.

Stanza 1.57.2

अध॑ ते॒ विश्व॒मनु॑ हासदि॒ष्टय॒ आपो॑ नि॒म्नेव॒ सव॑ना ह॒विष्म॑तः | यत्पर्व॑ते॒ न स॒मशी॑त हर्य॒त इन्द्र॑स्य॒ वज्रः॒ श्नथि॑ता हिर॒ण्ययः॑ ||

ádha te víśvam ánu hāsad iṣṭáya ā́po nimnéva sávanā havíṣmataḥ yát párvate ná samáśīta haryatá índrasya vájraḥ śnáthitā hiraṇyáyaḥ

Now, the whole world, for worship, comes to you. Offerings and prayers flow towards you like water into a valley. When that beloved form, with its golden thunderbolt, seems to rest on the mountain, it's Indra's might that holds everything.

Stanza 1.57.3

अ॒स्मै भी॒माय॒ नम॑सा॒ सम॑ध्व॒र उषो॒ न शु॑भ्र॒ आ भ॑रा॒ पनी॑यसे | यस्य॒ धाम॒ श्रव॑से॒ नामे॑न्द्रि॒यं ज्योति॒रका॑रि ह॒रितो॒ नाय॑से ||

asmaí bhīmā́ya námasā sám adhvará úṣo ná śubhra ā́ bharā pánīyase yásya dhā́ma śrávase nā́mendriyáṁ jyótir ákāri haríto nā́yase

To you, Indra, the awesome one, deserving of all praise! With reverence, let's bring our offerings in this ceremony, just like the bright dawn arrives. Your power and brilliance, for glory and renown, are made ready for those who seek them, like swift horses ready to race.

Stanza 1.57.4

इ॒मे त॑ इन्द्र॒ ते व॒यं पु॑रुष्टुत॒ ये त्वा॒रभ्य॒ चरा॑मसि प्रभूवसो | न॒हि त्वद॒न्यो गि॑र्वणो॒ गिरः॒ सघ॑त्क्षो॒णीरि॑व॒ प्रति॑ नो हर्य॒ तद्वचः॑ ||

imé ta indra té vayám puruṣṭuta yé tvārábhya cárāmasi prabhūvaso nahí tvád anyó girvaṇo gíraḥ sághat kṣoṇī́r iva práti no harya tád vácaḥ

Indra, praised by many, we are yours! We, who rely on you, are coming closer. Truly, O Indra, no one else receives our praises. As the earth loves all beings, please favor our words and our hymn.

Stanza 1.57.5

भूरि॑ त इन्द्र वी॒र्यं१॒॑ तव॑ स्मस्य॒स्य स्तो॒तुर्म॑घव॒न्काम॒मा पृ॑ण | अनु॑ ते॒ द्यौर्बृ॑ह॒ती वी॒र्यं॑ मम इ॒यं च॑ ते पृथि॒वी ने॑म॒ ओज॑से ||

bhū́ri ta indra vīryàṁ táva smasy asyá stotúr maghavan kā́mam ā́ pr̥ṇa ánu te dyaúr br̥hatī́ vīryàm mama iyáṁ ca te pr̥thivī́ nema ójase

Indra, your power is immense, and we are yours! O generous Indra, please fulfill this worshipper's wish. The mighty sky has measured out its strength for you, and this earth has bowed down to your might.

Stanza 1.57.6

त्वं तमि॑न्द्र॒ पर्व॑तं म॒हामु॒रुं वज्रे॑ण वज्रिन्पर्व॒शश्च॑कर्तिथ | अवा॑सृजो॒ निवृ॑ताः॒ सर्त॒वा अ॒पः स॒त्रा विश्वं॑ दधिषे॒ केव॑लं॒ सहः॑ ||

tváṁ tám indra párvatam mahā́m urúṁ vájreṇa vajrin parvaśáś cakartitha ávāsr̥jo nívr̥tāḥ sártavā́ apáḥ satrā́ víśvaṁ dadhiṣe kévalaṁ sáhaḥ

You, Indra, the thunderbolt wielder, shattered that great, vast mountain-like cloud with your bolt. You released the held-back waters to flow. You, Indra, possess all conquering strength, all by yourself, forever.
