Oh generous Indra, please don't lead us into this difficult fight! Your strength is so immense, no one can truly grasp its limits. You make the rivers and forests roar with your mighty shouts. Haven't people, out of fear, scattered and run away before?
The poet is pleading with Indra, the generous god, not to push them into a fierce battle. They acknowledge Indra's immense, incomprehensible power and how his might makes rivers and forests roar. The stanza questions if people, in their fear, would then flee in a panic.

sá śévr̥dham ádhi dhā dyumnám asmé máhi kṣatráṁ janāṣā́ḷ indra távyam rákṣā ca no maghónaḥ pāhí sūrī́n rāyé ca naḥ svapatyā́ iṣé dhāḥ
Give us, Indra, happiness and glory! Grant us great, people-conquering power. Protect our patrons and us, and give us wealth and well-being with good children.
This is a concluding prayer to Indra. The devotee asks Indra to bestow upon them ('asme') prosperity ('shevrudham') and glory ('dyumnam'). They request great power ('mahi kshatram') that conquers people ('janashali') and is potent ('tavyam'). Finally, they ask Indra to protect their patrons ('surin') and grant them wealth ('raye') and well-being with good offspring ('svapatya ishe').
