Stanza 1.49.1

उषो॑ भ॒द्रेभि॒रा ग॑हि दि॒वश्चि॑द्रोच॒नादधि॑ | वह॑न्त्वरु॒णप्स॑व॒ उप॑ त्वा सो॒मिनो॑ गृ॒हम् ||

úṣo bhadrébhir ā́ gahi diváś cid rocanā́d ádhi váhantv aruṇápsava úpa tvā somíno gr̥hám

Oh beautiful Dawn, Ushas, come to us with your bright, auspicious light from the heavens! May your red-horsed chariot bring you swiftly to the home of the one who is offering the Soma juice.

Stanza 1.49.2

सु॒पेश॑सं सु॒खं रथं॒ यम॒ध्यस्था॑ उष॒स्त्वम् | तेना॑ सु॒श्रव॑सं॒ जनं॒ प्रावा॒द्य दु॑हितर्दिवः ||

supéśasaṁ sukháṁ ráthaṁ yám adhyásthā uṣas tvám ténā suśrávasaṁ jánam prā́vādyá duhitar divaḥ

Oh Ushas, daughter of the sky, you who mount a beautiful and easily moving chariot, with that chariot today, help us, people of good renown!

Stanza 1.49.3

वय॑श्चित्ते पत॒त्रिणो॑ द्वि॒पच्चतु॑ष्पदर्जुनि | उषः॒ प्रार॑न्नृ॒तूँरनु॑ दि॒वो अन्ते॑भ्य॒स्परि॑ ||

váyaś cit te patatríṇo dvipác cátuṣpad arjuni úṣaḥ prā́rann r̥tū́m̐r ánu divó ántebhyas pári

O radiant Ushas, when your time comes, all flying birds, bipeds, and quadrupeds awaken and move around from the far boundaries of the sky, following the cosmic order.

Stanza 1.49.4

व्यु॒च्छन्ती॒ हि र॒श्मिभि॒र्विश्व॑मा॒भासि॑ रोच॒नम् | तां त्वामु॑षर्वसू॒यवो॑ गी॒र्भिः कण्वा॑ अहूषत ||

vyuchántī hí raśmíbhir víśvam ābhā́si rocanám tā́ṁ tvā́m uṣar vasūyávo gīrbhíḥ káṇvā ahūṣata

As you, Dawn, appear with your rays, you illuminate the whole shining sky. We, the Kanvas, eager for riches, call upon you with our chants.
