Stanza 1.43.1

कद्रु॒द्राय॒ प्रचे॑तसे मी॒ळ्हुष्ट॑माय॒ तव्य॑से | वो॒चेम॒ शंत॑मं हृ॒दे ||

kád rudrā́ya prácetase mīḷhúṣṭamāya távyase vocéma śáṁtamaṁ hr̥dé

What shall we say to Rudra, the wise, the most generous, the most powerful, that would be most welcome to his heart?

Stanza 1.43.2

यथा॑ नो॒ अदि॑तिः॒ कर॒त्पश्वे॒ नृभ्यो॒ यथा॒ गवे॑ | यथा॑ तो॒काय॑ रु॒द्रिय॑म् ||

yáthā no áditiḥ kárat páśve nŕ̥bhyo yáthā gáve yáthā tokā́ya rudríyam

So that Aditi may bring Rudra's healing to our people, our horses, our cows, and our children!

Stanza 1.43.3

यथा॑ नो मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो॒ यथा॑ रु॒द्रश्चिके॑तति | यथा॒ विश्वे॑ स॒जोष॑सः ||

yáthā no mitró váruṇo yáthā rudráś cíketati yáthā víśve sajóṣasaḥ

So that Mitra, Varuna, and Rudra would be aware of us, and all the gods united in harmony!

Stanza 1.43.4

गा॒थप॑तिं मे॒धप॑तिं रु॒द्रं जला॑षभेषजम् | तच्छं॒योः सु॒म्नमी॑महे ||

gāthápatim medhápatiṁ rudráṁ jálāṣabheṣajam tác chaṁyóḥ sumnám īmahe

We seek from Rudra, Lord of songs, Lord of sacrifices, healer of all ills, good fortune and his gracious favor.

Stanza 1.43.5

यः शु॒क्र इ॑व॒ सूर्यो॒ हिर॑ण्यमिव॒ रोच॑ते | श्रेष्ठो॑ दे॒वानां॒ वसुः॑ ||

yáḥ śukrá iva sū́ryo híraṇyam iva rócate śréṣṭho devā́nāṁ vásuḥ

He shines like the brilliant sun, like pure gold, the foremost Vasu among the gods.

Stanza 1.43.6

शं नः॑ कर॒त्यर्व॑ते सु॒गं मे॒षाय॑ मे॒ष्ये॑ | नृभ्यो॒ नारि॑भ्यो॒ गवे॑ ||

śáṁ naḥ karaty árvate sugám meṣā́ya meṣyè nŕ̥bhyo nā́ribhyo gáve

May he bring well-being to our horses, smooth journeys to rams and ewes, to men, to women, and to cows!

Stanza 1.43.7

अ॒स्मे सो॑म॒ श्रिय॒मधि॒ नि धे॑हि श॒तस्य॑ नृ॒णाम् | महि॒ श्रव॑स्तुविनृ॒म्णम् ||

asmé soma śríyam ádhi ní dhehi śatásya nr̥ṇā́m máhi śrávas tuvinr̥mṇám

O Soma, place upon us the glory of a hundred men, and great renown of the mighty!

Stanza 1.43.8

मा नः॑ सोमपरि॒बाधो॒ मारा॑तयो जुहुरन्त | आ न॑ इन्दो॒ वाजे॑ भज ||

mā́ naḥ somaparibā́dho mā́rātayo juhuranta ā́ na indo vā́je bhaja

O Soma, let not those who trouble you or are hostile overpower us; O Indu, grant us a share of strength and abundance!

Stanza 1.43.9

यास्ते॑ प्र॒जा अ॒मृत॑स्य॒ पर॑स्मि॒न्धाम॑न्नृ॒तस्य॑ | मू॒र्धा नाभा॑ सोम वेन आ॒भूष॑न्तीः सोम वेदः ||

yā́s te prajā́ amŕ̥tasya párasmin dhā́mann r̥tásya mūrdhā́ nā́bhā soma vena ābhū́ṣantīḥ soma vedaḥ

O Soma, know and cherish your own immortal creations, who adorn you from the highest place, the summit and center of cosmic order!
