मत्सि॑ नो॒ वस्य॑इष्टय॒ इन्द्र॑मिन्दो॒ वृषा वि॑श | ऋ॒घा॒यमा॑ण इन्वसि॒ शत्रु॒मन्ति॒ न वि॑न्दसि ||

Get yourself energized with Soma juice, O Soma! Powerfully enter Indra! You surge forward with great force, finding no one to stand against you!
This verse is a direct address to Soma, the divine juice. Let our praises enter him! For the unique one among humans, whose offerings are prepared, just like a strong bull ploughs the barley, so let our words reach him.

Whose hands hold all the treasures of the five peoples! Seize them! And destroy, like a bolt from the sky, anyone who harms us!

Strike down anyone who doesn't offer sacrifices, who is stubborn and doesn't please you. Give us their wealth! Even a wise person would accept this!
This verse continues the theme of destruction directed at enemies. The singer implores Soma to strike down ('jahi') anyone who does not perform sacrifices ('ásunvantam') or who is hostile ('dūṇā́śam'). The verse emphasizes that such a person does not bring any benefit ('máyaḥ') to Soma. The singer then asks Soma to grant them ('asmábhyam') the wealth ('védanam') that belongs to this vanquished enemy, expressing confidence that even a wise person ('sūríḥ') would recognize and accept this transfer of fortune.

You have always helped those who are doubly mighty and whose praises are constantly sung. O Soma, when Indra faced challenges, you powerfully aided the strong one in battles!
This verse praises Soma for his constant support. The singer notes that Soma has always aided ('ā́vaḥ') those who are 'doubly strong' ('dvibárhasaḥ') and whose praises ('arkéṣu') are sung without interruption ('sānuṣák'). Just as in the past you became like water to the thirsty, and like joy to the ancient singers, O Indra, so I call upon you with this invocation. May we find strength and abundance!
This verse expresses gratitude and devotion to Indra. The singer recalls how Indra, like life-giving water to the thirsty ('ā́paḥ na tŕ̥ṣyate'), has always been a source of joy and support ('máyaḥ iva') to the ancient hymn composers ('pū́rvebhyaḥ jaritŕ̥bhyaḥ').
