May Mitra, Varuna, Aryaman, Ayu, Indra, Rbhukshan, and the Maruts not overlook us! As we gather in this assembly, we will proclaim the mighty deeds of the divine, powerful horse.

Whatever undigested food is in the stomach, or any smell from the raw flesh, may the skillful sacrificers prepare it well. And may they cook the offering, making it perfectly cooked.

May the beloved soul not burn you as you enter, nor the cleaver stand in your body. May the greedy, unskilled butcher not cut your joints wrongly. May the gods accept this horse, offered, beloved, approved, and consecrated.
This verse is a protective prayer for the horse during its sacrifice. It asks that the horse's soul not be burned by the fire, nor its body pierced by the cleaver. It also prays that a clumsy butcher doesn't mishandle the cutting, ensuring the sacrifice is performed with precision and care.

Indeed, you do not die here, you are not harmed. You go to the gods by easy paths. Your bay and spotted mares have become your companions. The horse has come to stand at the pole of the donkey.
This verse reassures the horse that it will not truly die or be harmed in the sacrifice. Instead, it will travel to the gods via easy paths. Its companions will be the bay and spotted mares, and it will be yoked alongside a donkey, symbolizing a transition rather than destruction.

This final verse is a blessing for prosperity. It asks the horse, as a divine connection, to bring good fortune: wealth in cattle and horses, manly offspring, and freedom from sin. It also invokes Aditi for protection and asks the horse, laden with offerings, to secure lordship for them.
