Let our prayer be heard! With mindful thought, I first honor Agni. Now, we choose this heavenly group, we choose Indra and Vayu. Because when our latest thinking is focused on Vivasvan, may our new ideas flow towards the gods, yes, our ideas towards the gods.

Mitra and Varuna, when you took on the 'untrue' beyond the 'true' with your own minds and wisdom, we too, in our homes, have seen the Golden One. We saw it not just with our thoughts or minds, but with our very eyes, our eyes that are blessed by Soma.
This verse addresses Mitra and Varuna, acknowledging their actions of taking on something contrary to cosmic order (anrita) while remaining within the true order (rita). This is done through their wisdom and mental energy. The speaker then shifts to their own experience, stating they have seen the 'Golden One' (likely a divine manifestation or treasure) in their dwelling places, not just through thought or mind, but through their physical eyes, especially those aided by Soma.

O Ashvins, those who worship call you with hymns, announcing their praise and offerings! All glories and nourishment depend on you, O Lords of all wealth! The spokes of your golden chariot spin and scatter, O mighty ones, in your golden chariot.

O Mighty Ones, it is known that you open the heavens! Your chariot horses are yoked for the morning rites, steady steeds for the rites. We place you on the seat of your golden chariot, O Mighty Ones, on the golden car. You travel through the sky as if on a path, skillfully guiding your course.
This verse continues the address to the Ashvins (Dasra). It states that their nature is understood and they are recognized for opening up the heavens ('opening Nakama'). Their chariot horses are yoked for the morning rituals ('Divishti'). The poem emphasizes that they are unswerving in these rituals. The speaker places them on their golden chariot's seat and notes their movement through the sky as if on a clear path, skillfully guiding their course.

O Rich in Strength, Ashvins, kindly bestow your favor upon us, day and night. May your generosity never fail us, and may our offerings to you never cease.

These Soma drops, O powerful Indra, pressed out by stones, are ready for you! May they delight you, O Indra, so you can give great and wondrous gifts. O praise-acceptor, come with hymns! Come to us with well-being!
This verse is addressed to Indra. It speaks of the Soma drink, described as 'poured' and 'pressed out by pressing-stones' (adrishutasa). These Soma drops are meant for Indra, who is called 'powerful' (vrishan) and associated with heroes ('vrishapana'). The verse expresses a wish that these Soma preparations will gladden Indra ('mandantu') so that he may give great and wonderful gifts ('mahe chitraay raadhasae'). The speaker then calls upon Indra, who is praised through hymns ('girbhih girvaaha') to come, bringing well-being ('sumriliko').

Quickly, Agni, hear us! Praised by us, you speak to the gods and the kings. When you gods gave that milch-cow to the Angirases, Aryaman, along with them, milked her and did the work. He knows her, just as I know her.
The speaker addresses Agni, asking him to listen quickly. They state that Agni, being worshipped, speaks for the gods and for the kings. The verse then shifts to a past event where the gods gave a 'milch-cow' (dhenum) to the Angirases. This cow was milked, and Aryaman, along with them, performed the task. The verse concludes by saying Aryaman knows the cow well, as does the speaker.

May your powerful deeds and glories never grow old for us, and never fade away before their time! Whatever wondrous and new thing, beyond mortal reach, arises from you, Maruts, and whatever is hard to gain – grant that to us!
This verse is a plea to the Maruts, the storm gods. The speaker asks that their 'manly deeds' and 'bright glories' never fade or decay for them, and never vanish before their time. They then ask the Maruts to bestow upon them whatever is new, wondrous, and surpassing in their actions ('chitram, navyam, amartyam') and whatever is difficult to obtain ('dushtaram'). The Maruts are asked to 'hold' or 'establish' these qualities within the speaker.

Dadhyanc, Angiras, Priyamedha, Kanva, Atri, and Manu knew my origins from long ago. Their lineage reaches the gods, and our connections are with them. Following their path, I bow with song, I bow to Indra and Agni with song.

Let the offerer sacrifice, bringing valuable things! Brihaspati the wise sacrifices with strong bulls, bulls with many virtues. We hear the sound of the press-stone from afar. The capable one, with his great skill, has obtained many dwelling places.
This verse describes ritual actions. The 'offerer' (hota) is asked to perform a sacrifice, bringing valuable things. Brihaspati, the god of divine wisdom, sacrifices with powerful bulls ('ukshabhih'). These bulls have many excellent qualities. The speaker then mentions hearing the sound of the 'press-stone' ('adreh') which relates to Soma preparation. The verse concludes by stating that the 'very capable one' ('sukratuh') has obtained many dwelling places ('sadmani'), possibly referring to Indra or another deity securing their divine abodes.

This final verse is a direct address to a group of eleven deities residing in different realms: eleven in the sky (divi), eleven on the earth (prithivyam), and eleven with great power ('mahina') in the waters ('apsukshitah'). These eleven gods are collectively called upon to accept and be pleased with the current sacrifice ('yajnamimam').
