Stanza 1.119.1

आ वां॒ रथं॑ पुरुमा॒यं म॑नो॒जुवं॑ जी॒राश्वं॑ य॒ज्ञियं॑ जी॒वसे॑ हुवे | स॒हस्र॑केतुं व॒निनं॑ श॒तद्व॑सुं श्रुष्टी॒वानं॑ वरिवो॒धाम॒भि प्रयः॑ ||

ā́ vāṁ rátham purumāyám manojúvaṁ jīrā́śvaṁ yajñíyaṁ jīváse huve sahásraketuṁ vanínaṁ śatádvasuṁ śruṣṭīvā́naṁ varivodhā́m abhí práyaḥ

Oh, divine twins, Ashvins, I call your magnificent chariot, which travels as fast as thought and is pulled by swift horses, to this sacred offering for a vibrant life. Your chariot is known for its thousand banners, hundred treasures, and its power to bestow great wealth and comfort.

Stanza 1.119.2

ऊ॒र्ध्वा धी॒तिः प्रत्य॑स्य॒ प्रया॑म॒न्यधा॑यि॒ शस्म॒न्त्सम॑यन्त॒ आ दिशः॑ | स्वदा॑मि घ॒र्मं प्रति॑ यन्त्यू॒तय॒ आ वा॑मू॒र्जानी॒ रथ॑मश्विनारुहत् ||

ūrdhvā́ dhītíḥ práty asya práyāmany ádhāyi śásman sám ayanta ā́ díśaḥ svádāmi gharmám práti yanty ūtáya ā́ vām ūrjā́nī rátham aśvināruhat

As you approach, my prayer and thoughts ascend, and the directions themselves unite in song. I prepare the sweet offerings, and help arrives! Urjani has mounted your chariot, O Ashvins.

Stanza 1.119.3

सं यन्मि॒थः प॑स्पृधा॒नासो॒ अग्म॑त शु॒भे म॒खा अमि॑ता जा॒यवो॒ रणे॑ | यु॒वोरह॑ प्रव॒णे चे॑किते॒ रथो॒ यद॑श्विना॒ वह॑थः सू॒रिमा वर॑म् ||

sáṁ yán mitháḥ paspr̥dhānā́so ágmata śubhé makhā́ ámitā jāyávo ráṇe yuvór áha pravaṇé cekite rátho yád aśvinā váhathaḥ sūrím ā́ váram

When people compete fiercely for glory in battles, your chariot is seen, especially on the slopes. It becomes clear, O Ashvins, when you are bringing a special reward to a patron.

Stanza 1.119.4

यु॒वं भु॒ज्युं भु॒रमा॑णं॒ विभि॑र्ग॒तं स्वयु॑क्तिभिर्नि॒वह॑न्ता पि॒तृभ्य॒ आ | या॒सि॒ष्टं व॒र्तिर्वृ॑षणा विजे॒न्यं१॒॑ दिवो॑दासाय॒ महि॑ चेति वा॒मवः॑ ||

yuvám bhujyúm bhurámāṇaṁ víbhir gatáṁ sváyuktibhir niváhantā pitŕ̥bhya ā́ yāsiṣṭáṁ vartír vr̥ṣaṇā vijenyàṁ dívodāsāya máhi ceti vām ávaḥ

You two, Ashvins, rescued Bhujyu when he was struggling, bringing him back to his family with your self-moving chariot. Your mighty help for Divodasa is also famous.

Stanza 1.119.5

यु॒वोर॑श्विना॒ वपु॑षे युवा॒युजं॒ रथं॒ वाणी॑ येमतुरस्य॒ शर्ध्य॑म् | आ वां॑ पति॒त्वं स॒ख्याय॑ ज॒ग्मुषी॒ योषा॑वृणीत॒ जेन्या॑ यु॒वां पती॑ ||

yuvór aśvinā vápuṣe yuvāyújaṁ ráthaṁ vā́ṇī yematur asya śárdhyam ā́ vām patitváṁ sakhyā́ya jagmúṣī yóṣāvr̥ṇīta jényā yuvā́m pátī

O Ashvins, your chariot, meant for beauty and purpose, was driven by two voices. A woman seeking partnership chose you as her protectors and lords.

Stanza 1.119.6

यु॒वं रे॒भं परि॑षूतेरुरुष्यथो हि॒मेन॑ घ॒र्मं परि॑तप्त॒मत्र॑ये | यु॒वं श॒योर॑व॒सं पि॑प्यथु॒र्गवि॒ प्र दी॒र्घेण॒ वन्द॑नस्ता॒र्यायु॑षा ||

yuváṁ rebhám páriṣūter uruṣyatho hiména gharmám páritaptam átraye yuváṁ śayór avasám pipyathur gávi prá dīrghéṇa vándanas tāry ā́yuṣā

You saved Rebha from suffering and rescued Atri from the burning pit with cold. You made Sayu's cow flow with milk and gave long life to Vandana.

Stanza 1.119.7

यु॒वं वन्द॑नं॒ निर्ऋ॑तं जर॒ण्यया॒ रथं॒ न द॑स्रा कर॒णा समि॑न्वथः | क्षेत्रा॒दा विप्रं॑ जनथो विप॒न्यया॒ प्र वा॒मत्र॑ विध॒ते दं॒सना॑ भुवत् ||

yuváṁ vándanaṁ nírr̥taṁ jaraṇyáyā ráthaṁ ná dasrā karaṇā́ sám invathaḥ kṣétrād ā́ vípraṁ janatho vipanyáyā prá vām átra vidhaté daṁsánā bhuvat

You two, wonder-workers, restored ailing Vandana, like fixing a chariot. You brought forth a sage from a difficult place with your skill. May your powerful deeds come to the worshipper.

Stanza 1.119.8

अग॑च्छतं॒ कृप॑माणं परा॒वति॑ पि॒तुः स्वस्य॒ त्यज॑सा॒ निबा॑धितम् | स्व॑र्वतीरि॒त ऊ॒तीर्यु॒वोरह॑ चि॒त्रा अ॒भीके॑ अभवन्न॒भिष्ट॑यः ||

ágachataṁ kŕ̥pamāṇam parāváti pitúḥ svásya tyájasā níbādhitam svàrvatīr itá ūtī́r yuvór áha citrā́ abhī́ke abhavann abhíṣṭayaḥ

You went to the one suffering far away, abandoned by his father's betrayal. Your divine help was wonderful and marvelous, arriving when he needed it most.

Stanza 1.119.9

उ॒त स्या वां॒ मधु॑म॒न्मक्षि॑कारप॒न्मदे॒ सोम॑स्यौशि॒जो हु॑वन्यति | यु॒वं द॑धी॒चो मन॒ आ वि॑वास॒थोऽथा॒ शिरः॒ प्रति॑ वा॒मश्व्यं॑ वदत् ||

utá syā́ vām mádhuman mákṣikārapan máde sómasyauśijó huvanyati yuváṁ dadhīcó mána ā́ vivāsathó 'thā śíraḥ práti vām áśvyaṁ vadat

Even the honeybee sings sweetly to you! Auśija calls you in the joy of Soma. You attracted the wisdom of Dadhyanch, and then the horse's head spoke to you.

Stanza 1.119.10

यु॒वं पे॒दवे॑ पुरु॒वार॑मश्विना स्पृ॒धां श्वे॒तं त॑रु॒तारं॑ दुवस्यथः | शर्यै॑र॒भिद्युं॒ पृत॑नासु दु॒ष्टरं॑ च॒र्कृत्य॒मिन्द्र॑मिव चर्षणी॒सह॑म् ||

yuvám pedáve puruvā́ram aśvinā spr̥dhā́ṁ śvetáṁ tarutā́raṁ duvasyathaḥ śáryair abhídyum pŕ̥tanāsu duṣṭáraṁ carkŕ̥tyam índram iva carṣaṇīsáham

You two, O Ashvins, provided a magnificent, swift, white horse for Pedu, a conqueror of enemies, invincible in battle, and powerful like Indra against all adversaries.
