प्र म॒न्दिने॑ पितु॒मद॑र्चता॒ वचो॒ यः कृ॒ष्णग॑र्भा नि॒रह॑न्नृ॒जिश्व॑ना | अ॒व॒स्यवो॒ वृष॑णं॒ वज्र॑दक्षिणं म॒रुत्व॑न्तं स॒ख्याय॑ हवामहे ||
prá mandíne pitumád arcatā váco yáḥ kr̥ṣṇágarbhā niráhann r̥jíśvanā avasyávo vŕ̥ṣaṇaṁ vájradakṣiṇam marútvantaṁ sakhyā́ya havāmahe
Let's sing praises with offerings to the joyous one! He, with Rjishvan, drove away the dark brood. We call upon him, the strong one, the one whose right hand wields the thunderbolt, accompanied by the Maruts, to be our friend, because we need his help.

The speaker urges Indra to enjoy himself with his bay horses and to open his mouth and speak. They ask that his swift horses bring him the offerings, and that he graciously accept them.

We are the guardians of the Marut-praise, O Indra; may we obtain wealth with you. May Mitra, Varuna, Aditi, the river, Earth, and Sky grant us this.
